Offseason in the Bronx

You can catch me here during the offseason, starting next winter. Add this shithole to the Big Apple tours. Blech.

NEW YORK (AP) -- A Hard Rock Cafe will open in the new Yankee Stadium.

The 7,000-square-foot restaurant will operate year-round in right field when the park makes its debut next season, the two organizations announced Wednesday.

Above it will be a restaurant called NYY Steak, a joint venture by the Yankees' parent company and Seminole Hard Rock Entertainment. Other NYY Steak branches could also be opened in other parts of the country.

Patrons without tickets will be able to eat at both restaurants on game days. The field will not be visible from either location.

Wednesday's announcement was the first news conference held at the under-construction stadium. Workers took cell phone photos of Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, who sat on a stage erected on the dirt where the infield will be.

More and more, it sounds like that new Yankee dump is about everything BUT baseball.

Too bad it's in the bleeping South Bronx. Outside of baseball season, who is going to go to that place for an expensive steakhouse or a Hard Rock.

I've been to the Hard Rock in SkyDome (or whatever it's called now) but that's different, right in the heart of downtown.

Fake culture for the daytripper. Hard Rock and the Yankees, perfect together.
