Ron on the Mets listserv posted this Gotham Baseball story. It's long, but I thought it was very interesting.

I confess I don't know anything about Gotham Baseball, or who writes for it. It seemed well sourced until a place near the bottom.

If you don't mind, reference that article without copying and pasting, as Healey is a sometimes member here.

Yes, I am a hypocrite.

Again, if Wilpon isn't leaking secrets of Randolph's imminent firing, and if its in Omar's best interest to keep Willie on board and he would have but for leaks, then who told Jon Heyman exactly what was going down?

I'm probably wrong but I thought Minaya wanted Rudy Jaramillo as the hitting coach.

I have a friend that works at Belmont shoveling shit and he saw Bernazard there the day of the Belmont Mile , just saying that's all.

]Unlike Goldis, whose agenda to usurp any influence that newly-minted GM Jim Duquette (after spending half a year as the interim GM after Steve Phillips was fired) began the day he was hired...

He comes up with that zinger early, but his support for it is shaky, and non-existent beforehand. If nothing else, it should be declared as a premise of the article and part of the thesis (which it becomes), rather than referred to as a pre-established fact.

Why, anyhow, do we need boogeymen? Do we really believe kiling one man can purify the rest?

if bernazard really is THAT bad and we want him out, maybe we should say good things about him so he'll get the seattle gig.
