I voted indifference because that's how I felt 3 days ago.

I'm more cautiously optimistic now.

Overall, IMO, pitching coaches are overrated.

I admire the fact that Peterson had a vision and a plan, but his rep was pretty much built by the talent he had in Oakland.

I'm not sure Warthen would have had any less success had he been pitching coach for the Mets over the past 5 years.

I went with indifference because I've never been sure how much I think all but the very best pitching coaches matter.
I do like his glasses, though.
It occurs to me that some lucky team could now hire Peterson and Buck Showalter and start an all jacket-wearing coaching staff. Best if it were someplace really hot and/or humid. Houston, maybe?

Most of the warmest parks are climate controlled these days. Probably Miami would be best.
