I think it's nice that Oberkfell is finally getting a spot on the big club. But I can't figure out why Nieto would get the ax. The Mets must have done it for a reason. Maybe Manuel wanted his own guy there? Maybe he pissed off Tony Bernarzard?

i feel exactly as metsguyinmichigan does. its nice to see oberkfell rewarded, but its hard to see why Nieto had to go anywhere

I went with Modest Disapproval. Nieto didn't do anything wrong that I saw/heard about. They could have thrown Oberkfell someone else's bone.

Apparently the only thing Nieto did wrong was be Willie's guy , his friend. At least that is what I have read the past week.
