Going to the Championship Game

MK's Little League team (which is managed by D-Dad) is going to the championship game on Saturday after winning tonight's playoff game 10-4. MK had an RBI and scored a run. This is a team that was largely written off because D-Dad drafted for character - they may not be the most inherently talented group, but they are good kids who played their hearts out all season. The fact that they've made it this far is spectacular. Win or lose on Saturday, this has been a great season for the kids.

Well, the team didn't have its fairy tale ending. But they battled hard, and still had a great overall season.

Glad to hear that miniknight and his team had a good season. As long as he and his teammates had fun while learning more about the game, then it was a successful season.

This isn't the same as a season championship, but MK's All Stars team just won their final tournament of the season. He's ending the year on a high note :)

It's a lot more impressive than my trophy! Then again we were "Third place -- consolation round" So we're lucky we got anything beyond a flier stating when next year's league fees are due. Congrats on a job well done. Those kids will remember that always. And enjoy the gift card, that's a nice touch from the parents.

Thanks Michigan, and congrats to you as well :) And the gift card will definitely be enjoyed. It's for a local Italian place with a nice menu - a good choice for a celebration dinner/birthday dinner with the family.

Thanks! Bo customized his with the Big Klu look and was then constantly ribbed about putting on a "gun show." The team is called "Know Mercy" because they -- before my time -- were mercied in every single game in their first season. And, since we're a church team, it kinda sounded cool. We're actually two teams because we had so many guys that we needed to either split or get one at-bat per game. Know Mercy 1 took second place -- consolation round, giving them slight bragging rights.
