IGT - Mets at Yankees - 6/27/08 (Game 2)
KC Jun 27 2008 05:58 PM |
Can't find a lineup, maybe the buses are stuck in traffic.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 06:14 PM |
I'm jazzed. Put up another 15 spot, guys.
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 06:16 PM |
Whew! It's a game of inches!
Zvon Jun 27 2008 06:18 PM |

Damon lf
Zvon Jun 27 2008 06:38 PM |
Nixon and Castro lead off the 2nd with singles.
KC Jun 27 2008 06:43 PM |
Stranding three with no outs generally ain't a good recipe for a win.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 06:43 PM |
Damn.
KC Jun 27 2008 06:46 PM |
No, dats not baseball.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 06:55 PM |
That was a very weak at bat. Was that 1st pitch swinging at shit? I think it was. I like what Delgado tried to do on that pop up bunt and I'm relieved it didn't come back to bite us.
bmfc1 Jun 27 2008 07:01 PM |
Church is 0 for 3 w/2 K's for the Cyclones tonight. Pedro is also pitching in Brooklyn.
attgig Jun 27 2008 07:01 PM |

EVERYBODY CLAP YOUR HANDS!
AG/DC Jun 27 2008 07:04 PM |
Hey, Molina, at least Posada goes down on his knees for those pitches.
attgig Jun 27 2008 07:07 PM |
geez, 2 straight innings with Bases loaded... So it's those mets that showed up this evening...
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:07 PM |
Thougth we'd plate a run there...well...datsAbaseball..
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:17 PM |
Ouch.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:17 PM |
Respect Endy's rocket arm.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:19 PM |
Woof, that was an ugly looking play.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:19 PM |
Cano could not have hit a better slow, weak grounder for the RBI ground out.
AG/DC Jun 27 2008 07:20 PM |
Pedro's still got the heart, man.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:22 PM |
He got two grounders in a row, can't do much more than that.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:22 PM |
OH! Another slow weak grounder.
KC Jun 27 2008 07:22 PM |
VCF: >>>that was an ugly looking play<<<
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:23 PM |
Not TOO bad... now go beat up Ponson in the bottom half.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:23 PM |
Respeck.
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 07:23 PM |
Time to get them back!
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:24 PM |
Guess I'll take it.
attgig Jun 27 2008 07:25 PM |
we load em twice. 0 runs.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:26 PM |
I'll take the over. They're really close to a big inning off this tubby mess of a ballplayer. (My fiancee says he looks like the guy from Smashmouth.)
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:28 PM |
A patented Jeter-can't-get-there single up the middle.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:29 PM |
lol.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:31 PM |
Esp on a wide screen TV. He's wider than the Babe himself. Maybe wider than Eric Gregg during his wider days.
AG/DC Jun 27 2008 07:33 PM |
I'll never buy into taking a pitch if the guy is running.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:41 PM |
Keith, on the Yankees' lineup: "It's obviously not as good as it used to be, back in their heyday."
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:41 PM |
DON'T walk Jeter!
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:42 PM |
Ugh, Endy throws up the line. Forget that Ali G thing from before.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:44 PM |
Take your purple lips and SIT DOWN!
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:45 PM |
Did Darling just make up a new word?
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:50 PM |
I wonder on plays like that, a deep, obvious foul ball with a runner on 3rd, if you'd be better letting it fall?
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:51 PM |
Giambi didn't want to walk from what I saw him swingin at, yet Martinez walks him.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:53 PM |
I'm still taking the over. This is the inning they get into that awful bullpen like raccoons in a trash bag.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:54 PM |
That wasn't all that foul from the running fielders perspective. He was just crossing the line. In this case I agree with the booth. get the out. Now if he was at the stands waiting for it to come down, thats another situation.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:55 PM |
Would you let it fall then? You can set yourself for the throw home.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:56 PM |
Rangers just took a 7-6 lead over the Phils in the 5th.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:57 PM |
Whoa, Perez?
Zvon Jun 27 2008 07:58 PM |
The way Pedro was walking batters Id personally get the out / hopefully DP.
Fman99 Jun 27 2008 07:59 PM |
Odd seeing O.P. warming up in the pen. I wonder if they intend on calling up Armas or someone to start Sunday's tilt instead of Ollie.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 07:59 PM |
Yeah, he needed an out there. He's back out for the 6th.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:00 PM |
GARBAGE!!!! Don't give him that base, gaddammit!
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:00 PM |
Interesting.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:00 PM |
Buulshit- no attempt to avoid the pitch. Pedro should drill Damon.
Fman99 Jun 27 2008 08:01 PM |
The SNY team suspects Perez is just getting his throwing in, this being two days prior to his start.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:02 PM |
Yeah, I just thought Pedro was definitely coming out and no one else was throwing.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:05 PM |
Wow, that Wanted movie sure looks like the Matrix.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:05 PM |
Its SHOWtime!
AG/DC Jun 27 2008 08:07 PM |
I think Pedro is close.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:07 PM |

According to reports I've read Sunday is Perez's last chance to right his ship. My prediction? No-hitter.
attgig Jun 27 2008 08:08 PM |
i want that pedro's line for the shea game...
Fman99 Jun 27 2008 08:09 PM |
Well fuck.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:12 PM |
He was missing bats. Just got killed by the walks, a few miscues in the infield and hung that one slider to Jeter after, like 100 pitches. I'm encouraged.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:20 PM |
Francesca looking like he's frosted his hair and put on lipstick.
Fman99 Jun 27 2008 08:22 PM |
Ugh. Solo HR by Cano and it's 7-0. Nighty night all.
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 08:23 PM |
Can't we carry over some of the runs from this afternoon?
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:25 PM |
lol. I thought it was my picture and was gonna tone down the color. Glad you said that, cuz I'd rather keep my blues, orange's, and greens vivid. Like the NY on the blue cap...I got it so saturated it looks like its glowing.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:31 PM |
Well, I keep my settings neutral, so he must've looked like the Heatmiser to you, then. Yikes!
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:32 PM |
Showtime is over.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:35 PM |
Thats exactly how he looked, just with red lips instead of nose.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:36 PM |
Who'd have thought, after the first game, the Mets would wind up with a neutral run differential for the day?
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:38 PM |
9-0 Skanks.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:43 PM |
2008:
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 08:47 PM |
Keith and Gary are sounding positively punchy by the 7th inning.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:50 PM |
It was enjoyable to experience some chuckles during this dismal game.
Vince Coleman Firecracker Jun 27 2008 08:51 PM |
Well, I'm done with this game. They're not in bad shape for the last two games- at home with Santana and Yankee Killer® Oliver Perez. 3 out of 4 and I'll be very happy.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 08:53 PM |
OOO, our not so secret weapon for this series, Andy Phillips, is in for Beltran.
Zvon Jun 27 2008 09:03 PM |
Mets have 2 on, 1 out in the 8th.
attgig Jun 27 2008 09:05 PM |
they loaded em in the second and third against ponson... there's no way the subs and bottom of the order is going to get them... yup, they didn't.
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 09:06 PM |
Get those fucking Jeter Ford ads off of Mets broadcasts NOW!!!!
Zvon Jun 27 2008 09:21 PM |
This one was tuff to sit thru.
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 09:24 PM |
Thank YOU Zvon - games are always more entertaining when you're around (even though this one was very short on entertainment value).
Zvon Jun 27 2008 09:25 PM |
Werth just hit a 9th inning Phaboom in Texas.
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 09:27 PM |
Burrell's up with 2 out and Howard on deck.
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 09:30 PM |
Burrell doubles, and Geoff Jenkins comes in as a pinch runner. Howard's up.
themetfairy Jun 27 2008 09:35 PM |
Game over. Texas holds on to win. Whew!
Zvon Jun 27 2008 09:36 PM |
No, thank YOU. And thank you Phillies for losing, final 8-7. Ponson on a wide screen TV.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 27 2008 09:45 PM |
I hate how the Mets invariably cough up at least one Yankee game to some sack of shit pitcher making his first appearance (Tyler Fuckyouasshole Clippard, Dwight Whatthefuck Gooden or Sidney Suckme Ponson).
Gwreck Jun 27 2008 10:33 PM |
There was nothing redeeming whatsoever about this game.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 27 2008 10:39 PM |
Oh, and not to put anything past him, but Pedro pretty much sucks.
AG/DC Jun 28 2008 06:06 AM |
You ever lose a game by that much and think about the break here and there that could have turned it around? It's like had the bases loaded the entire first half of the game,
Frayed Knot Jun 28 2008 06:42 AM |
Yup! Two early ABs in particular: Reyes's pop-up (bad AB) and Castro's GiDP (good AB - bad result). Also, to continue my on-line rant from the first game (and my years-long rant in private), while we were not getting it done in those ABs the Skanks were hitting balls TOO SHITTY to make outs or turn DPs. Obviously that changed later on as they started to get some real hits but the number of bad-swing/good result ABs that team gets has got to lead the planet. I know that's probably irrational but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The only thing enjoyable about that was hanging with a couple of my coworkers in various places around the place.
What he said. BLEAH!
