Yay Church
KC Jun 29 2008 10:24 AM |
Damon lf
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 29 2008 10:28 AM |
The bottom 5 of that MFY lineup indicates we oughta win this one.
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 10:53 AM |
This is the TBS game of the week for you non-NYers
Zvon Jun 29 2008 11:11 AM |
Im hoping for a "GAH!" free game.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 11:14 AM |
Pinstripes with black caps?
Zvon Jun 29 2008 11:24 AM |
Man, Wrights just missing quite a few this series.
bmfc1 Jun 29 2008 11:29 AM |
Boy does Castillo suck. Good thing this is his walk year. Oh yeah.
bmfc1 Jun 29 2008 11:30 AM |
Meanwhile, Moron Chip Carey, spawn of Moron Skip Carey, is doing play-by-play for TBS. He called the pitching mound "the bump." What, there aren't enough cliches and slang terms in baseball, he has to make up his own?
Zvon Jun 29 2008 11:30 AM |
Another wasted opportunity.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 11:36 AM |
Wow.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 11:44 AM |
Zvon Jun 29 2008 11:53 AM |
YEA!
Zvon Jun 29 2008 11:55 AM |
Guess I'll take the one run.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 12:06 PM |
Wow.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 12:09 PM |
DELGADO!

themetfairy Jun 29 2008 12:21 PM |
So much for the perfecto :(
Zvon Jun 29 2008 12:22 PM |
Jeter gets the Skanks first hit.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 29 2008 12:25 PM |
classic showdown vs gayrod here.
bmfc1 Jun 29 2008 12:27 PM |
Wow! Way to go Ollie!
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 29 2008 12:27 PM |
Fantastic whiff. Wow.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 12:29 PM |
That was! YEA! Once Perez got focused there, from the stretch, he went bulldog on A-Rod.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 12:56 PM |
I've been up in that scoreboard Gary, and as far as I know that ladder is the only way up. Course this was way before they had that skyline up there.
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 01:08 PM |
That works.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:08 PM |
Interesting advice from Warthen to Perez in regards to his release point.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 29 2008 01:09 PM |
We let Rasner off way too easy.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:09 PM |
Was kinda heavy for a spell but I think it's let up.
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 01:10 PM |
Cool. so game should get played in full.
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:11 PM |
We need to win this one just so bmfc1 doesn't fly into full-fledged rant mode.
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 01:12 PM |
The Mets need to get this one so I don't have to deal with my co-workers tommorow!
bmfc1 Jun 29 2008 01:14 PM |
Yeesh. Was yesterday's rant that memorable?
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:16 PM |
Nah, just reacting to your early game comments in this one.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:17 PM |
What a difference a day makes in regards to Reyes.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:18 PM |
haHAha.
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:19 PM |
btw, that cheezy infield single we got from Luis for the first run means that now we're only trailing in that category about 9 to 1 this weekend.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:19 PM |
Nice!
bmfc1 Jun 29 2008 01:19 PM |
Hi Steve--insulting a member of the Carey family is an automatic reaction for me. And Castillo's lengthy contract is an easy target.
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 01:25 PM |
For 10 hits, we should have more than 3 runs at this point.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:30 PM |
Perez's 100th pitch of the day gets CRUSHED by Betemit.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:31 PM |
OMG.
themetfairy Jun 29 2008 01:31 PM |
Fuck - we should have been out of the inning :(
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:32 PM |
$@(%#!
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:34 PM |
No further damage - but those little shenanigans means they'll get the middle of the order up again in the 9th.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:36 PM |
Whew.
bmfc1 Jun 29 2008 01:37 PM |
On TBS, the "Viagra Moment That Changed the Game" was Game 5, 2000 WS. Ugh.
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:37 PM |
Delgado - Church - Chavez
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 01:38 PM |
David Robertson has no MLB.com photo!
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:40 PM |
You need it for your collection?
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 01:41 PM |
Just mocking how obscure this fellow appears to be. That MLB hasn't grabbed him and got a head shot of him.
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:42 PM |
Well he's been in the major leagues for all of 20 minutes
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 01:43 PM |
They take photos of everyone on a 40 man roster, see the 25 man roster thread here.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:44 PM |
Not only is Church back, but hitting the ball like he hasn't missed a beat.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 29 2008 01:44 PM |
friggin schneider
KC Jun 29 2008 01:44 PM |
Actually, Steve has a picture of him and wants to know why MLB doesn't :-)
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 29 2008 01:46 PM |
I'll come right out and say it: I'm scared for this lead, and this game.
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:50 PM |
1) That you know that scares me 2) He wasn't on the 40-man until yesterday If nothing else I like our OF defense as it is now.
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 01:52 PM |

Uh, I follow Edgy's 25 man roster thread and just about all of the Mets 40 have nice Metly photos there, taken in ST.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Jun 29 2008 01:53 PM |
Stevie Jeets has commissioned an oil painting.
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:53 PM |
Nice job PF!
Zvon Jun 29 2008 01:54 PM |
Excellent 8th inning by Feliciano.
themetfairy Jun 29 2008 01:56 PM |
How about some insurance?
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 01:58 PM |
I guess Manual preferred a lefty PH against one of the Yanqui RH relievers instead of Tatis so no double-switch ... although I suspect if Willie did the same he'd get criticized for not knowing HOW.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 02:02 PM |
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 02:12 PM |
Never in doubt!
themetfairy Jun 29 2008 02:12 PM |

Zvon Jun 29 2008 02:12 PM |

In the books.
themetfairy Jun 29 2008 02:13 PM |
4-2 on the season series :)
Frayed Knot Jun 29 2008 02:14 PM |
I wanted 3 this weekend -- but overall I consider this a 6-game series and am happy with the 4 of 6
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 02:14 PM |
First time since 2004.
bmfc1 Jun 29 2008 02:14 PM |
Yea for us! The Mets with the only home win in the six games.
themetfairy Jun 29 2008 02:18 PM |
Gary was just talking about Good Ollie pitching today
Zvon Jun 29 2008 02:24 PM |
Not to be unrealistic but I'd like to really really see us take 3 of 4 from the Cards.
Zvon Jun 29 2008 02:25 PM |
KC Jun 29 2008 02:26 PM |
SJ: >>>Not that its much consolation considering the season so far<<<

I hereby dedicate the final win by the Mets over the MFYs in the history of Shea Stadium to Mets Guy in Michigan who was in my thoughts when Billy closed the deal. Through the good graces of Met Fairy, I was at the game with a fairly magical group: my wife getting her first SS game; my friend Richie who was with me for Matt Franco; and my friend Rob who had an MGIM problem dating back to 1998 where Mets-MFYs games were concerned. He and I saw them lose the first one (Rojas v. O'Neill), saw them lose at MFYS II in 2000 (13-5), he saw them lose yesterday and there were probably some others in between. It was good to watch the monkey crumble off his back.
themetfairy Jun 29 2008 04:10 PM |
I'm glad you brought the good Karma to the game today. I knew that it was important to make sure that the seats went to worthy Mets fans :)
AG/DC Jun 29 2008 04:34 PM |
And I chum.
KC Jun 29 2008 04:53 PM |
I ain't throwing chum into the water, I'm being the shark.
AG/DC Jun 29 2008 05:00 PM |
Of course. I don't mean nothing either.
SteveJRogers Jun 29 2008 06:19 PM |
EHEM! Bright side of course IS that the Phillies aren't running away with the division, so a great showing this weekend and the Metsies should be in business headed towards the AS break.

I'm kinda dissatisfied myself. Four games against the MFYs; in three of them we face Geise, Ponson and Rasner; and in the fourth we face Pettitte but oppose him with Johan F. Santana. Jeez, we coulda had all 4. (John Sterling) Well Suzyn, that's baseball! As soon as somebody tells you they have it all figured out, they don't! Thuh-uhhhhh pitch... (/John Sterling)
