Bottoming out?

Right now, I feel like the Mets have absolutely no chance at doing anything this year except, perhaps, lucking into a slightly above .500 season. However, the [url=http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=270916019]last time[/url] I felt this down on one of my teams, I was really [url=http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=280203017]wrong[/url].

No, wait... looking at the dates, I guess [url=http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=270920128]this[/url] was the last time I felt this down on one of my teams, and that time I was [url=http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/boxscore?gameId=270930121]right[/url].

Oh well- I tried to be optimistic.

Oh, of course they have a chance.

They're not at all likely to win 95 games, but the Phillies aren't running away with the division. The Mets could very well sneak into the playoffs with 87 or 88 wins.

I don't see much reason to be optimistic, but there's still reason to be hopeful.
