Mike Mussina, STFU

Waah-waah-waah.

"I'm just pleased that we didn't play at one o'clock today," Mussina said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "We had a beautiful day and we could have played all day long. It's frustrating. Now we have to come back, lose another off day and play another game. It's frustrating when we lose off days, because we don't have that many as it is."

You're making $11 million dollars this year, Mike. Somehow I think you'll be able to cope.

I nominate Mussina for the "Bullet of Cunt" award for June.

Hey - he might have to pitch after four days rest instead of five. That's hard for a guy, you know.

Aren't these the same d-bags who didn't want to play on the off-day Monday after the original rainout? Shut up, asshole.

And what the hell?!? You're not even pitching today, dickwad! God, I hate professional athletes. You don't want your job? Then fucking quit. Go back to Bumbleass, PA with your goats, count your money, and shut the hell up.

Urgh.

A lot of great athletes came out of Bumbleass. I bet part of it is the motivation, to not grow up and be an assminer, like your father.

Whenever I think of Mussina, I think of an interview Fox ran with him during the first Subway Series he was a part of. The game was at Shea and he was in his road uniform and he referred to the honor of wearing the pinstripes or the steel gray that said New York on it and McCarver swooned that Mussina had the presence of mind, Stanford man that he is, to have differentiated between the home and away unis in his chat.

Also, whenever I think of Mussina, I think he's a total douchebag jerkoff who can go fuck himself up the Bumbleass. This is the same guy who bitched and moaned that the Blue Jays' honoring their longtime announcer delayed his start at SkyDome and that it threw him off even though he was pitching fine that day until like the sixth. What a fuckhead, honestly. I fucking hate him and he's probably not even in my top ten I-fucking-hates when it comes to the MFYs. Well, maybe he is by now.

C'mon Mets, don't fuck up today, tomorrow or the next day. Fuck up all you want the rest of the season, but honestly, you have a fucking job to do and it's to shut these motherfuckers up or, even better, get them whining about how they had to sit around Pittsburgh for a couple of hours. A-holes. Fucking a-holes.

(I haven't had much sleep lately.)

The only reason that there's a game @ 2 today (and the reason that the Shea game starts @ 8 and not 7) is because "the players" (we don't if it was Mets or MFYs or both) didn't want to give up a mutual off day on 9/11 to reschedule the make-up game. (It might have been nice to play the game on 9/11, wear the new patriotic hats that MLB is pushing, and give the proceeds to appropriate charities but that means nothing when it comes to a day off.)

And it would have been nice (but not expected) of Mussina to think of all the fans that would have been inconvenienced by moving yesterday's game in Pittsburgh to 1 as he desired. No way he would think of them or those that have to take off hours from work to get to the game @ 2 today which is a workday for most people.

Fans of all other teams are Toledoans. Remember that.

Actually, I'd prefer they continue to wear the FDNY, NYPD, and PAPD hats.

Hear, hear!
I'm not counting on the Mets making the playoffs this season, so this weekend may be the biggest of my baseball-fandom year. If they can take three of these four games, I'll be content with the season (as long as the Yanks also miss the playoffs.) Disappointed, but content. I think.

Three and a half games out. Five and a half from the Wild Card.

I still have hopes for a bit more than a series victory in June. I'm looking for meaningful games in August, if not September. (Or October.)

I know, I know. I hope they can pull it out. I'm just not counting on it. My feelings about this team also change at least daily. Right now I see a decent pitching team with a heinously bad lineup. A day night sweep today and a Phillies loss and I'll feel a lot different tomorrow.
I also tend to let my emotions get the best of me around subway series time. I work with annoying Yankees fans, my family is a bunch of annoying Yankees fans and my future father-in-law is the most annoying Yankee fan I've ever met. The "bragging rights" people refer to actually affects my quality of life. So I tend to over-value these games.

I bet his sheep are hoping he doesn't come back home very soon.

Not to burst your bubbles, but this isn't sheep country. Or goat.

What the hell is Bumbleass? Something one of you made up?

Really? Someone has a problem with Bumbleass, PA?

Cooby, don't tell me you haven't toured the goat farms of Bumbleass, PA? I saw a special about them on the Travel Channel. Apparently, many of the farms are owned and operated by Amish goat farmers, who use none of the modern methods of goat milking, shearing and general husbandry available, and prefer to use "plain" methods.

It was something to see. Check your tv guide for reruns.

For a goof, I googled 'Bumbleass, PA' and the forum is the first entry!

Wow! If there really was such a town, we could sell ad space to its Chamber of Commerce.

Bill Brasky has the biggest farm in Bumbleass, PA. He took first prize in the goat-growing contest for growing the biggest goat the Bumbleass County Fair.
