Let's expand the fishing theme to cover the Big Three of baseball player off-season hobbies.

Not unless I'm hunting with Willard.

Can't imagine that would be fun.

I am way too squeamish to want to hunt.

These hobby polls are really showing how different the northeastern metropolitan area dwellers are from their more rural (southern) cousins. I'm starting to feel like a freak.

I'm the only hunter of the group, I guess.

Upon edit: For clarification, I don't hunt or shoot anything that my family (or a needy family somewhere) won't eat. To hunt any animal for a trophy to display is wasteful and repugnant to me.

Besides the Jim Bouton variety.

i've never done it and can't imagine that i would want to (though shooting things that arent alive is certainly an attractive proposition to me.)

I like guns, none of my friends are into hunting except one.

He bugs me occasionally that I should go deer hunting with him but he's one
guy who I just ain't going off into the woods alone with along with live ammo.

A deer has to be taken with one shot. I try to tell people that but they don't listen.

I don't hunt. My dad kind of hunted when we first moved upstate from New Jersey. Within a 6 week span, he took out 3 deer on his way to work. After fixing the car the last time, someone slid on ice, knocked my dad's car into a ditch, and it was totaled.

I love camping and I love shooting, but I'd never be able to kill an animal on purpose. Of course, I do eat meat, so I can hardly condemn it without my hypocrisy glands swelling up. I personally think hunting is a much more humane source of meat than farming, since the animals are allowed to live naturally for at least part of their lifespan. I don't buy the one-shot one-kill thing though- I'm a pretty good shot and I miss my mark fairly often (if not by much). Even if you've got a dime-sized group, some of those shots are gonna wound instead of kill. I'm certain for every clean kill there are a half dozen deer staggering though the woods for hours with a hole in their neck.
But farm-raised meat is probably even worse. Worse and delicious.

Duh, I'm an idiot. I actually watched that the other day, too. Glad he ate her!

I voted 'not fun'.

I have hunted (birds), but wasn't very good at it. That's probably why it wasn't fun.

While I was attending my seminar in Seattle last week, our son, who was ledft behind due to his summer school schedule, kept calling my wife and I for no apparent reason. Truthfully, I think the boy was feeling a little left out and just wanted to know what we were doing. On Thursday evening my wife, daughter and I were in a nice Italian restaurant and getting ready to order dinner when my wife's cell phone rang. It was Junior calling yet again. I was about to tell my wife to tell him goodnight, we'll talk to him again in the morning, when I her her say, "You had an accident?! Are you okay?"

After a few moments she told me that Junior had apparently hit three deer while going to the grocery store for milk. He said that one was dead and he had pulled it off the road. The other two went down, then hopped up and took off across the road and into a Hardees parking lot the last he saw them. Luckily he and his vehicle, were reasonably unscathed.

I like shooting guns and I am good at it. Fun. Although, I have never been and sitting around all day waiting for something might not actually be fun. But once something comes into sight. . .bam! fun time.
