Celebrate the birth of our nation. With all our faults and problems, there is still no place I'd rather be than in the U.S.A. I'm proud to be a patriotic American.

I wish each of you a safe and wonderful holiday weekend.

Same to all of you...working in my garden. Only two snakes so far.

Gonna swim now; maybe barbeque later.

Took the kids to the movies. Now off to quickly visit my parents.

Happy Independence Day everyone!

I slept in until 10am, went to a little-league all-star game, had lunch at McDonalds, stopped by the hardware store, did the slightest bit of yard work, drank a Coke, watched Trading Places, then took a nap. Now, I'm sitting down for a Mets game before heading to the beach for fireworks at dusk.

I love America.

Another 20 degrees or so and it'll feel like the Fourth of July, too!

We got the warmth, although seeing more of the sun today would have been nice.

Took Jr., to the Central Park Zoo, then napped on the couch while the MFY game played. Cleaned up the patio & yard. Cooked burgers, kept Jr. up way past bedtime for fireworks (just down the street to the river) and he demanded we go home as soon as they started. Get home in time to see Mets make the most convincing argument yet that they just don't have it this year.

USA! USA!

Plenty of sunshine and more than enough heat (95 today) here. Slept in, then had a late breakfast on the deck. Spent the day reading, surfing the net, and shooting pool. At around 3:00 Pm we headed over to a friends house on the resevoir for a big gathering. There was a grilled pig with all the fixins and plenty of fun on the water (6 ski boats, 1 sail boat, and 4 jet skis). At dusk we loaded into the boats and watched fireworks from the water. A really nice day.

Judging from Lunchbucket's post, I'm guessing that the news from Philadelphia wasn't very good. I guess you can't have everything.
