The grinding cuckoo clock music goes with the way the circular quarryman's tools (saw blades, I guess) are arranged like clock gears. Sort of casts the nude figures into the role of clock characters who march out of the machinery every hour.

The music is "In C," by Terry Riley. This is the composition that The Who paid homage to in "Baba O'Riley."
