Jerry's Kids

Guys who have upped thier performance in the post-Willie era.

Delgado definitely. Tatis impressively. Eaxley substantially.

Heilman, I think. Pelfrrey, though the change had already begun a few weeks before.

Even WRight, to some extent.

I'm cool if Willie or his supporters want to tell folks the team had turned the corner and he just needed these few weeks for it to play itself out. Who knows? It might even be true. He's just, you know, not getting his job back.

Are there still Willie supporters?

Yes, George Steinbrenner.

A lot can happen over the next two months, but I do like Jerry's chances of returning in 2009.

And that would be a good thing. I don't really want to have an off-season manager search. I'd get sick of the cries for Wally Backman and the cries from Gary Carter.

Yeah, it's really pathetic just how much whining is coming from Gary Carter.

I'd add Perez too. Though, I think he'd call it the post-Peterson era.

It's got to help not having to answer questions everyday about Willie's job , going to your job in a better environment is a plus.

Does Hojo get any credit here for the offense , Manuel practically called him our after taking over saying that they needed a better/new plan going forward.

Unless they can get Bobby from Japan, I'd want Manuel heading the troops next year.

Backman, Carter, blech.
