Wednesday Trivia

It's an often-tied, never-beaten single game record. The last three guys who tied it later played for the Mets. What and who?

First thing I thought of was four K's in an inning, but that's an inning record not a game record, and I have no idea who did it last.

Second guess is four homers in a game. Shawn Green, Mike Cameron, and...?

Delgado.

Yup.

Here's a followup: who's the last guy to homer four times in a game his team lost?

I don't know if it's right, but I always think of Bob Horner when I think of four-HR game guys.

Me too.

Correct! The Braves lost 11-8 that day.

Really? I thought Horner drove in eleven runs or something. Apparently not.

edit: No, that was Mark Whiten with twelve that I was thinking of.

And if you throw in Hodges, they've had four of that fraternity.

Mays = 5

So of the ten guys who have done it and who could possibly have played for the Mets, five of them actually have.

So who's in the 'could have but didn't' category?

(hard hittin') Mark Whitten
Joe Adcock
Bob Horner
Mike Schmidt (extra innings IIRC)
