Ollie Perez vs Scott Olsen

BP chimes in on Olsen:
Tonight's starter for the Marlins has passed Perez heading in the opposite direction. Olsen had a 2.40 RA after his first seven starts of the season, thanks primarily to a .187 batting average against. But in his 14 starts since, Olsen's RA is 6.28, as opponents have hit .282 against him over 81 2/3 innings ... Olsen is simply allowing too many balls in play this season to be a front-of-the-rotation starter, especially since he pitches in front of a sub-par Marlins defense: his 4.6 K/9 is the fifth-lowest amongst NL qualifiers.

They didn't mention that he's also an ass.

Reyes
Evans
Wright
Delgado
Beltran
Tatis

...and Reyes gets nailed trying to stretch a double.

A perfectly reasonable attempt - took a good throw to get him. Costs the good guys a run as Evans knocks one off the wall to pretty much the same spot.

It wasn't reasonable. With nobody out, he should have stayed at second.

I would rather Keith not say "Metsies".

1-1 after 1.

Dont' listen to him, Keith. This is America. You be as gay as you want.

Hell, this is Miami. Fly that flag high.

Olsen is sweating to a degree that I've never seen from a professional athlete. It's literally pouring off of him!

That's nice to see, two-out RBI single

The soft drink or the illegal drug?

Beltran's 2-out single gives the Mets a 2-1 lead in the 6th.

The Mets fail to capitalize on having the bases loaded and settle for the 2-1 lead.

What happened to Jerry's tack on the runs policy?

I gotta think he's soaking his hat in cool water between innings.

This pitching staff looks like it came off of a Scandinavian team or at least a 1920 Minneapolis Miller staff:

Olsen
Lindstrom
Gregg
Hendrickson
Johnson

Plus, you get a slavophonic name like Volstad and a Teutonic name like Waechler.

Ugh, bullpen (Heilman) comes in and walks the 8 hitter to start. Great.

NOt that Aaron doesn't deserve a bag of shit for walking two of his first three hitters (particularly the first one) but DANG he isn't getting any calls!!

Just following it on my computer, so I can't see the pitches.

But he got out of it, so he is forgiven.

My parents live in South Florida. It's funny, because when you meet someone down there (outside of Miami, at least) they don't ask if you're from New York. They ask what part of New York you're from. There are so many of us down there that they just assume.
