A lot would have to fall into place, but would he be the first guy to win a gold medal and championship ring in the same year (the Ken Morrow of baseball?)

Mike Kinkade was actually the closest as far as I can tell. One name from the past I came across- 2004 bronze medalist Norihiro Nakamura. You think the Mets are OK at third without him?

Relax. The deadline has passed. This just in from the Mets: RHP Brandon Knight has cleared waivers and was outrighted to New Orleans. He was placed on the Temporary Inactive List while he joins the US Olympic Team. Hey, it's something, right? Maybe he won't have those opening night jitters the next time out. From David Lennon.

Knight is the most unlikely rook to come to Queens since Mike Bishop. I hope he becomes King of Beijing.
