Since we're between these two teams on the schedule, it got me thinking that they are fairly similar. I'm not sure that either can or will make the playoffs, but...

They have both been playing above what most thought they would all season.

They are both currently in 3rd place in their divisions, but within striking distance of the top.

They both have talented parts, but also glaring flaws.

St. Louis currently has the better record, but plays a slightly tougher schedule the rest of the way:

St. Louis (58-49) 9 vs. Cubs, 2 vs. Milwaukee, 3 vs. Philly, 7 vs. Florida, 7 vs. Arizona, 3 vs. Dodgers, 24 vs. sub-.500 teams

Florida (55-50) 3 vs. Cubs, 12 vs Mets, 7 vs. St. Louis, 9 vs. Philly, 3 vs. Arizona, 23 vs. sub-.500 teams

So, who do you think finishes with the best overall record at the end of the season Florida or St. Louis?

Going with St. Louis , they just seem to find a way to win no matter who is in the rotation or starting line up.

Cardinals are not a playoff team, no way, Jose.

Ask me again about the Fish after this series. I'm still not sure about us!

I don't think so either , not this season with the Cubs and Brewers going good , but I do think they will finish with a better record than the Marlins.

Let's see... the Fish are 6 games over with a negative 30 run differential while the Cards are 10 games over with a positive 23 run differential. Will this pay out 2-1?

Fish. Cards have more unproductive bats in their lineup and the Marlins pitching staff is getting better with Johnson and Sanchez returning.

I'll go with the Fish, who have some pitching help coming on board. But what a sloppy team.
