Name the players acquired on July 31st in the following years. I've left out minor leaguers thrown in but never used, but I included minor leaguers who were not immediate parts of the team.

1989 (1 player)
1995 (1 player)
1998 (4 players)
1999 (4 players)
2002 (2 players)
2002 (2 players)
2006 (2 players)

Obviously deadline-type deals have gone down before or after the magic day, but there are the ones that came right as the window closed.

I know one of those 2002 trades was the one that sent Jay Payton to the Rockies.

If I remember right, they got back John Thomson and Tom Martin.

I really should have 2002 compressed into one year like I do for other years.

might be wrong but what about Shawon Dunston for 1999

While Christensen, Clark, and Little are three peas in a pod, only one was a 7/31 acquisition.

Yeah, the teensy-weensy icons for Little and Thomson are switched.

In 95 they traded Saberhagen for Juan Acevedo (sp?) and the Gooch.

This is crazy but I associate the Willie Blair and Jorge Fabregas trades with my early forays into Internet arguuments on the Mets. I can still see the stupid ugly cube where I carried on those talks.

1998 -- Ralph Milliard (?)

98 isn't Piazza...wasn't either Wilson or Pulsipher traded that day?

I don't regard answers in the form of a question as answers. There's scorekeeping going on here.

I'm going with Ralph Millard. Also, Soupy s half-right: His answer reminded me of the right one -- Tony F. Phillips.
