IGT Pods @ Mets 8/6/08
TransMonk Aug 06 2008 05:39 PM |
Late start on the IGT here. Mets down 2-1 going to the bottom of 2.

Murphy looking good at the plate again, Castillo will play nine tonight and Jerry says he'll have to fight for playing time....
Rockin' Doc Aug 06 2008 05:51 PM |
Pedro gives up a homer to Gerut to open the game. After getting an out, Pedro quickly surrenders another bomb, this time to Giles.
TransMonk Aug 06 2008 05:54 PM |
Pedro has looked great since the 2 bombs, though.

Hey, check it out! 2-1!
John Cougar Lunchbucket Aug 06 2008 06:19 PM |
Though I might have preferred a triple, Murph's bunt single wasn't a terrible idea. Took a very nice play by Baek to get him.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 06:22 PM |
Intentionally walking Schneider to pitch to Pedro was pretty funny.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 06:29 PM |
Dan Warthan needs a new number. He goes to the mound, and I get thoughts of Guillermo Mota.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 06:32 PM |
Pedro pitches out of it, despite getting some squeezage by Bruce Dreckman.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 06:34 PM |
Leadoff single by Reyes.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Aug 06 2008 06:36 PM |
I'll be home with the gasoline
metirish Aug 06 2008 06:40 PM |
Wright gets doubled off at first base, forgot how many outs there were....Christ.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 06:40 PM |
Murphy and Wright on the bases seems to equal bad news these days.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Aug 06 2008 06:43 PM |
I think Wright had too many Molly Beers before this series.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 06:55 PM |
Uhhh, typically I'm all good with sending the pitcher up here. But considering he's going one more inning, tops, I dunno.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 06:56 PM |
Hey, Pedro, run, you girly man!
TransMonk Aug 06 2008 06:58 PM |
I'm alright with it if he gets through this inning.
metsguyinmichigan Aug 06 2008 06:59 PM |
Sending Pedro back out? His longest start of the season, I think. Good for him!
TransMonk Aug 06 2008 07:03 PM |
A leadoff double gets the bullpen anyways.
seawolf17 Aug 06 2008 07:05 PM |
And married life means we're watching Project Effing Runway.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Aug 06 2008 07:05 PM |
Dude, it re-runs at 11!

Here it's ' So You Think You Can Dance'....I'm going doing the garbage , at least then I can listen on the radio.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 07:07 PM |
Yeah, alright if he gets through the inning. But, as we see, big if.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 07:08 PM |
I'd've liked Smith against Gonzalez here.
John Cougar Lunchbucket Aug 06 2008 07:11 PM |
Take a fucking day off David.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 07:12 PM |
Oh, blammit.
seawolf17 Aug 06 2008 07:13 PM |
Yeah, but that's WAY past bed time.
metirish Aug 06 2008 07:14 PM |
What happened , I watching two guys do the foxtrot...
Frayed Knot Aug 06 2008 07:16 PM |
Giles hit a cue-shot towards 3rd which skip-bounced past David to allow the go-ahead run in.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 07:17 PM |
Cal Ripken, your ghost is killing me.

That would explain what "fielder's choice to left" means on GameCast. (Irish and the Wolf trying to knock Edgy off the gay icon pedestal tonight.)
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 07:19 PM |
Give me Murphy
TransMonk Aug 06 2008 07:20 PM |
Can we pinch run for Wright?
Frayed Knot Aug 06 2008 07:22 PM |
He's not having a good week.
KC Aug 06 2008 07:33 PM |
sea: And married life means we're watching Project Effing Runway<<<
Frayed Knot Aug 06 2008 07:33 PM |
Well that's going to disappoint all those fans who had already named Kunz as replacement closer.
seawolf17 Aug 06 2008 07:38 PM |
Well, we didn't need to call Kunz up from AA. Aaron Heilman could have done that.
TransMonk Aug 06 2008 07:39 PM |
C'mon, FK...everybody knows that you should never put a closer in a non-save situation.
holychicken Aug 06 2008 07:41 PM |
Why do the Mets have to give up 6 HR in two games to probably the weakest offense in the league? Seriously? Come on. . . they're killing me here.

I'm with Gary/Ron here -- Put Castro in to PH and AReyes to PR
seawolf17 Aug 06 2008 07:45 PM |
Because they hate us.
Nymr83 Aug 06 2008 07:45 PM |
no, heilman would have walked kuzmanoff infront of headley for a 2-run shot. i dont care that kunz gave up the hr there, sometimes you get beat, just dont walk people infront of homers and you'll be ok
holychicken Aug 06 2008 07:48 PM |
I blame you. I have always been a model Mets fan. You booed Heilman, didn't you. . .DIDN'T YOU!?!?!?!

3 outs to get 2 runs or more.

Don't sell me short, I spent three innings of commercial breaks searching for old Joe Pepitone porno spreads.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 08:03 PM |
Hit it on the ground, Jose.
Nymr83 Aug 06 2008 08:05 PM |
come on wright, find a way to get on.

Down 2, with 2 outs at one on, you have to put up a guy with some pop, regardless of whether he's a lefty or a righty. If Castro isn't capable in Jerry's eyes, then it's incumbent on Omar to get someone that is. If Castro is capable, but Jerry wanted to keep it lefty/righty, then he's not as smart as he thinks he is.
Rockin' Doc Aug 06 2008 08:08 PM |
Crash and burn, baby. Crash and burn.
Fman99 Aug 06 2008 08:12 PM |
Sigh.

I was out running and having the same thoughts. Then I thought: Gerut, Hairston. Giles. Where do we get off not trying to get any one of these guys, if only to have as a guy to use in that situation. We are punchless, hopeless, and Jerry's beginning to look like a guy I'd prefer not return next year.
metirish Aug 06 2008 08:32 PM |
Tony Bernazard will want his own guy to manage when he becomes the apple of Jeff Wilpon's eye.
Gwreck Aug 06 2008 09:10 PM |
I really thought they would come back tonight.
cooby Aug 06 2008 09:14 PM |
Nice job Gwreck. Cherish your parents.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 10:37 PM |
I may be in denial here, but I'm thinking Castro wasn't answering the bell tonight.

My better half has been advancing this theory for the past two weeks plus, convinced it is the cause of his recent struggles. I'm significantly less skeptical of this theory than I was just a few days ago.
AG/DC Aug 06 2008 11:11 PM |
Anybody else noticing that he's wearing a little extra weight?
OlerudOwned Aug 07 2008 12:46 AM |
Completely blah game that moved to a level of profound dissatisfaction for me because I know it was my last trip to Shea.

I just knew that the All Star break wold be a pain in the arse for this team , been playing like rubbish since then.
