The study, published in the August issue of Psychological Science, was conducted by the researchers presenting 42 taekwondo referees with videos of blue- and red-clad competitors sparring. The two sets of clips were identical except that the colors were reversed in the second set so the red athlete appeared to be wearing blue and vice versa. After each video the referees were asked to score the performance of each competitor, red or blue. The psychologists said competitors wearing red were awarded an average of 13 percent more points and the points seemed to increase after the blue athlete was digitally transformed into a red athlete and decrease when the red competitor turned blue

Back in the days when things weren't so over-analyzed there were teams like the Yanks and the Celtics who never wore red and were dominant for a decade at a time.

nobody said Red = Win, just that the study showed that red received more favorable calls from the refs than blue. and who knows, maybe yankee pinstripes or celtic green induce even more favorable reactions.

Have you passed the bar yet? OE: Introduce topic suggesting something is a thing that results in a favorable something. Favorable calls generally equal success. Just not for teams wearing navy and green, I say. No one says the color translates to wins, just calls! But then again, maybe navy and green is better than red. You're a Sal wannabe sometimes.
