Three Seven Nine

Nope, not an earned run average.
Not a batting average.
If so, this post would have been in a different forum.

The last few days, I've seen regular gas selling for $3.79 at several stations in the Danbury, Ct. area.

Just curious.
What's a gallon of regular going for in your areas?

Today I paid $3.49 gallon at a local truck stop.

Most places in town are about 15 cents more, though, so that'd be $3.64.

I was thinking today how cleverly we've been trained to ignore that .9 at the end.

$4.09 yesterday, it was as high here as $4.59.

I figure the plan is to settle in under four somewhere, now that we're
"used to it."

NY does dick you with the taxes, its always been about 15-20 cents cheaper just over the goethals bridge from SI to jersey, and thats particularly remarkable when you consider that NY allows self-service while NJ forces all gas to be pumped by attendants, an added cost of doing business.
but the state taxes arent going to go down any time soon, not with the big spenders in albany way over budget as usual. the first thing that should be cut is the legislature's salaries.

We were in the $3.78 but it jumped to $3.88 last week for no apparent reason, then $3.95 this week for even less of an apparent reason -- other than Labor Day is approaching.

Dropping steadily here in upstate NY, I saw gas at $3.75 today. Cheapest it's been in some while.

Is that regular, super unleaded, or the one in between?

Who's crazy enough to buy super? Like, ever?

You mean you don't use super for your Lamborghini?

Edgy,
Since you live where three governments are very close to each other, what are the gas prices in Maryland, Virginia and DC itself?
Is there usually a big difference?

I would expect that Virginia has the lower gas prices. During many years of traveling through southern Virginia (Williamsburg - Richmond - Charlottesville - Covington), I find that the gas prices there are generally 5-15 cents per gallon less than they are here in North Carolina.
