You asked for action. You got action.

I did ask for action, and I like it.

I love it. Not that I love Ayala, cause I don't, but because it gives up a guy we couldn't possibly use for a guy who just might be helpful.

Love is a big word. I'm just friends with this move.

It was junk for the potential that a change of scenery might bring a good pitcher back to form.

Just bringing in somebody to shift the bullpen around and perhaps briefly cost somebody his job --- that can't hurt.

I hump this trade.

Nothing not to like about a trade where we give up someone below replacement level quality (where replacement level = Argonaut Reyes, more or less) for someone with potential to be above replacement level quality.

I like this trade. Ayala may be able to help the Mets as they pursue a playoff spot this fall. Anderson Hernandez would almost assuredly not help the Mets in that quest. Hernandez was pretty good defensively and could serve as a pinch runner, but his value to the Mets was minimal at best.

Sometimes a change of scenery can help, and Kunz was probably not ready. On that alone, it helps the bullpen.
