The one that was original to our house flooded the basement in 1998. It was horrendous.

Go a few days without access to hot water and you will likely learn to appreciate the conveniance and comfort offered by your hot water heater.

Well, mine has survived, but is hanging by a thread, I'm afraid. I looked up the tankless heaters on the web -- looks like a good alternative.

However, watch out for the Tankleff water heaters, which kill you in your sleep.
