Har!! shrunken me pirate avatar!!!
KC Jun 05 2005 03:57 PM |
They're definitely taking their time with Cairo's leg.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 03:58 PM |
Wow, it's like the first "sucks" on the new board.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 04:03 PM |
I think it's been lost in his so-far legendary pinch-hitting, but he's a 2B by trade. If Matsui needs a day off and Cairo's not ready, he's probably the best fit. I know he's not a Gold Glover, but he'll be okay for one game. Maybe Matsui plays Game 2.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 05 2005 04:15 PM |
A two out single, with the runner stranded at first. And efficient first inning from Ishii.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 04:16 PM |
Never thought I'd see those two words ("efficient" and "Ishii") in the same sentence -- other than the sentence "Ishii could never be called an efficient pitcher" -- but it's apropos of something here. Nice work through the top of the order.
KC Jun 05 2005 04:18 PM |
Yes, Matsui in the night cap. Piazza sits and Floyd goes too ... I'm like, no
TheOldMole Jun 05 2005 04:19 PM |
Does "suxx" count?
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 04:20 PM |
Reyes should have been called safe.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 05 2005 04:20 PM |
Cameron singles, and steals second.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 04:21 PM |
Cameron really has been lights-out since he got back from the DL. It's almost too good; I feel like I'm waiting for the bubble to burst.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 05 2005 04:21 PM |
Beltran grounds out. Cameron moves over to third. Two out.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 04:22 PM |
Cammie singles and steals.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 05 2005 04:23 PM |
Mikey strikes out, stranding Cameron on third.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 04:38 PM |
Mr. Efficiency with a dunker single to left scores Wright and the Metsies are up 1-0 after 2.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 04:49 PM |
Seems like the Mets have been getting a lot of good hitting from their pitchers this season.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 05 2005 04:59 PM |
An error by Mr. Wright leads to the Giants tying the game in the third.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 05:20 PM |
The scores were announced by the Giant play-by-play man and the color guy Mike Krukow assumed a goofy voice and yelled, "THEEEEE Yankees lost!"
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 05:23 PM |
Wow! Ellison misses the suicide squeeze sign and swings.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 05:26 PM |
Nice to see Yankee-hating transcends all state borders.
holychicken Jun 05 2005 05:27 PM |
ishii being 2-2 (and the only RBI thus far) today raises his average to 385.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 05:38 PM |
Fascinating Ishii tidbit, courtesy of Dave O'Brien: Apparently, Ishii has a Charles Barkley-like media presence in Japan; he has a "zany" personality that we don't often see here, but I guess he's very funny. O'Brien also says that he'll apologize after interviews if he wasn't "witty enough."
Nymr83 Jun 05 2005 05:38 PM |
Ishii has thrown 50 strikes in 69 pitches, meaning that his biggest critic will not be very critical today.

Edgy, now you've gone and done it.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 05:48 PM |
Hard Giant hitting and sloppy Met defense give a four-run lead to San Francisco.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 05:52 PM |
Krukow career vs. Mets:
KC Jun 05 2005 05:59 PM |
Start game two NOW!!!
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 06:01 PM |
Lance Niekro hits one about 5000 feet into the seats in left, and he leaves down 6-1 in the 7th. In comes Heath Bell.
Nymr83 Jun 05 2005 06:05 PM |
I'm not too happy about wasting Bell down 5 runs in game 1, shouldn't they throw Aybar or Dejean out there?
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 06:10 PM |
Krukow Krukow Krukow.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 06:26 PM |
Manny says "'Fubar' this!"
Johnny Dickshot Jun 05 2005 06:28 PM |
We don't hit enough.

Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 06:33 PM |
Rally caps, campers.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 06:35 PM |
Would ya look at the size of that guy's head! It's the size of a planetoid and it has it's own weather system! Looks like an orange on a toothpick!

seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 06:39 PM |
Nah, that was a response to Wide.
Rockin' Doc Jun 05 2005 06:40 PM |
Rally just died.
Johnny Dickshot Jun 05 2005 06:40 PM |
That was Kaz wiffing in Wright's lineup slot thanks to a 2-batter double-switch by WWSB.
Nymr83 Jun 05 2005 06:40 PM |
Matsui swings at ball 4 to end the inning
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 06:40 PM |
Weak swing by Matsui against Jane Eyre, who's been absolutely money this year.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 06:42 PM |
Willie doubleswitched Wright out of the game?!? How did I miss that? Come on, Willie.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 06:51 PM |
A ninth inning double helps Mienkiewicz get some rocks off.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 06:51 PM |
Cool photo, even if the play sucked:
Rockin' Doc Jun 05 2005 06:52 PM |
Eye Chart doubles to open the ninth. Doing all he can to miss the interstate.
ScarletKnight41 Jun 05 2005 06:55 PM |
VD hits one off of Hawkins that caroms into the outfield. Mets on first and third.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 06:55 PM |

Isn't this Cliffy's spot here?
ScarletKnight41 Jun 05 2005 06:58 PM |
Woodward singles to make it 6-2.
Rockin' Doc Jun 05 2005 07:03 PM |
Nice to see the team putting up a fight. Beltran needs to get on so the tying run can come to the plate.
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 07:04 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Jun 05 2005 07:06 PM |
Mike Piazza, your tying run.
Rockin' Doc Jun 05 2005 07:06 PM |
Mission accomplished as Beltran singles. 6-3 Giants with Mets at the corners with two out in the ninth.
seawolf17 Jun 05 2005 07:06 PM |
Mike Piazza, who leads all players in the history of baseball in career GOICS (ground outs in clutch spots), grounds out in a clutch spot and game 1 is in the books.
KC Jun 05 2005 07:14 PM |
>>>GOICS (ground outs in clutch spots)<<<

*sigh* So, is there anyway to get credits for the number of posts from ezboard?
Edgy DC Jun 05 2005 08:08 PM |
Three outs in the ninth there -- Reyes, Cammie, and Piazza -- the future, the present, and the past.
MFS62 Jun 06 2005 04:08 PM |
And, the Mets lost game one, didn't they? When I posted that, the score was 1-1. They lost. Its your fault. And I won't forget that. Later
