I can't figure out how to post images here - how do you do it?
|
Rockin' Doc Jun 05 2005 11:15 PM |
You can do it using HTML code as long as you have it turned on. Or you can do it the easy way, by using the links just above the text box. To post an image, simply hit the Img button, then paste in the link to the image you desire to post. Then you hit the Img button once more.

Thanks - I'll give that a try.

Is it possible to resize images in your post so they appear smaller? I was going to post an updated Peanut photo, but it's enormous.

When posting with htiml, you can specify the height and width in the code.

Or you could just alter the height, and the width will alter itself proportionately.

Why can't I post from my computer's hard drive? WHY MUST MY PICTURE COME FROM SOMEWHERE ON THE NET!

Image Shack will host any image from your computer and give you a URL for it, so you can then post it here. It's free, and it's a nice service.

Will this resizing method work to resize an avatar?
|
ScarletKnight41 Jan 24 2006 02:22 PM |
Yes - I resized Impulse2's avatar with Image Shack.

Thanks, SK. Amazing that sites out there do this for free. Must be a lot of money in Internet advertising.

You're welcome.

Hmmmm....the link doesn't seem to be working when I paste it into my profile though. I typed in the URL, asked for the "Avatar" size from the drop-down, and was taken to a page with a bunch of options. Which one of those should I pop into my Profile page?

Go through the original process of getting a URL for the image, but when you do it, select the option to resize the image. Then you'll have a URL for Avatar size.

I swear I'm not computer-illiterate, but this has me stumped. I'm now on the page http://www.imageshack.us/transload.php after giving the image and size, but the address in the box marked "Direct Link to Image" just gives me the full size one. I feel like a dunce.

I don't have an answer for you Elster. I did that above with the oft-cited MK photo, and he shrunk just fine.

I think I figured it out. Not sure what I did differently this time. Thanks again for helping a poor bumbling fool. I feel bad now for every time I teased someone who calls themselves computer illiterate. It's a helpless feeling.

No, that would be Mr. Perfect, Curt Hennig. One of the great WWF stars of the late 80s-early 90s.

The greatest, actually. RIP.

Well, it's a smashing photo. I'm glad that it ultimately worked out for you :)

What photo would that be, SK?

ScarletKnight41 Jan 24 2006 04:25 PM |
It's the one on the previous page :p

Image Shack's transload is a nice feature. Websites don't really appreciate when you hotlink their pictures.
