DiComo: Reed Garrett, called upon to finish this one off in the ninth, has his own (temporary) closer's entrance now. The lights flashed off and Kid Rock's "Bawitdaba" is blasting at Citi Field.
And to think I liked Reed Garrett.

Re: Baty and Scott to Syracuse
Scott is a little bit of a surprise. (And so is Baty, for that matter.) Is Butto coming back? The Mets have Thursday and Friday off for the London series as well as the following Monday. Scott could have pitched Tuesday in WSH but I guess they have other ideas. Perhaps he will pitch the first game ...

It would be... something if one of the networks hired him as the "Rules Expert".

Re: IGT 05/28/24 -- LAD @ NYM -- Game One
MLB could put the 10th inning runner halfway between 3d and home and the Mets wouldn't score.

Bases loaded, 3-1 count, and Taylor watches it. And then the former batting champion fails again. Pathetic.

Perhaps the Mets should have added a MI today instead of another RP.

IGT 05/28/24 -- LAD @ NYM -- Game One
Let's play two! The Dodgers have "tweaked" their rotation to match Tyler Glasnow against Tylor Megill just be funny and give the announcers something to talk about. Glasnow pitched 8 shutout innings against the Mets on April 21st but the Dodgers have lost 5 straight and the Mets have won o...

It WAS on the schedule. Today's game has been banged.
There will be a single admission doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 4:10 PM.
Enjoy your day.

Re: IGT 05/27/24 -- LAD @ NYM -- Because it's also on the schedule
Wednesday's game is at 4:10 so if they are going to have a split doubleheader it has to be tomorrow (not that I'm advocating for a split-DH, they shouldn't be allowed, but the poor owners need their gate revenue).

Re: What's in Store for Twenty-Four?: Joey Wendle
Joey Wendle was DFA'd by the Braves which means they had just enough time to get him to tell secrets about the Mets organization.

IGT 05/27/24 -- LAD @ NYM -- Because it's also on the schedule
Best wishes to everyone on Memorial Day. A recent column in The Washington Post argues that Memorial Day should be moved to July 3rd: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/05/22/memorial-day-federal-holiday-overhaul/ When you think "Mets and Dodgers" you think "Tylor Megill and...

If you challenge a call and you're wrong, and it's determined that it's a stupid challenge, any player on the opposing team gets to slap the manager who asked for the challenge as punishment for wasting our time.

Nido with a stupid play when there are two outs and you are inept at your job. Everything you need to know about Narvaez is this: he doesn't start over Nido who should be in AA (for another team). "Run prevention" my butt.

To be fair to the City Connects, it's not like they are winning a lot in any of the uniforms.

Sean Manaea v Logan Webb. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/giants-vs-mets/2024/05/26/745824/preview JD Stewart starts in RF with Manaea, LH, on the mound. That doesn't sound good. Vientos sits again because Baty hit a HR yesterday (Baty is 0 for 5 against Webb). The Mets are a 1.5 run underdog and the O/...

If any Mets are invited I hope that they decline. F the WBC (I'll be fine with it if the Mets aren't involved b/c it doesn't do anything good for the Mets and that's all I care about).

Re: Bad Roster Construction
The Mets either need to lose an outfielder/DH or a pitcher. Yes, exactly... but losing a pitcher feels fanciful these days, especially if they are going to a 6-man rotation (otherwise, you could excise Houser unless he's a placeholder for Peterson). Narvaez--yeesh, but if you don't have another cat...
