Re: Springsteen

One of my faves. I'd find it impossible to rank this sort of thing but, yeah, it would be higher on my list as well.
In the early years, when his live shows were in smaller venues, this was his stroll through the audience song.

Re: Japanese-Born MLB Home Run Leaders

Yeah, the name is familiar but I have no specific memories of him at all.
I was shocked to discover he pitched three seasons and made 97 starts for the Yanquis.

Re: TWiB Notes - May 13 thru 19

Elder abuse going on in Atlanta. Braves starter Bryce Elder takes it on the chin early and it's 7-0 Padres on SNB in the 4th. Darvish dishing for the Pads. Braves/Pads got rained out Saturday, but this was already scheduled to be a 'wrap-around' series anyway so now they're going to follow a night g...

Now I feel better.
After all, when was the last time you saw a 4-run 9th inning lead blown?

Now up to six straight goose eggs following the opening inning barrage.
No way any of this will come back to bite them.

I didn't think Sixto Sanchez was even going to come out for the 2nd inning much less
ggetting through the 4th and doing so basically untouched.

Re: Are the Mets Just Bad

As I posted elsewhere, they have scored one run or fewer in 25% of this year's games. That is....not good. No, but neither is it wildly bad. The average number of games scoring 0 or 1 runs to date is 8.3 per team. Eight others are as high or higher than the Mets 11; lowest number is 3 (PHI), highes...

In fairness to Garrett, his "rough outing" as Gary called it consisted of two sort hits and a fly out.

No hits but a couple of at'em balls at 2B, an attempted steal (foul ball) and two runs scored.
Y'know, your typical slacker effort.

"Steals without a throw"
We're so used to hearing that phrase when the Mets are on defense that it's a nice switch to hear it this way for a change.

This time Bader started the AB by fishing for junk but didn't finish it that way.
Previously he swung at trash for strike 3
