Feel free to take away Edwin's save chance, Mark.
And that goes for the two guys behind you also.

Re: IGT 05/18 - Mets at Marlins - First Pitch 4:10 PM

In fairness to Garrett, his "rough outing" as Gary called it consisted of two sort hits and a fly out.

Re: IGT 05/18 - Mets at Marlins - First Pitch 4:10 PM

No hits but a couple of at'em balls at 2B, an attempted steal (foul ball) and two runs scored.
Y'know, your typical slacker effort.

Re: IGT 05/18 - Mets at Marlins - First Pitch 4:10 PM

"Steals without a throw"
We're so used to hearing that phrase when the Mets are on defense that it's a nice switch to hear it this way for a change.

This time Bader started the AB by fishing for junk but didn't finish it that way.
Previously he swung at trash for strike 3

Re: IGT 05/18 - Mets at Marlins - First Pitch 4:10 PM

Two runs in, bases loaded and one out ... and then the next seven hitters go down consecutively and quietly.

And now instead of a potential blowout we have a tie.

Re: IGT 05/18 - Mets at Marlins - First Pitch 4:10 PM

Nice to get a lead for a change ... but that inning coulda/shoulda been better.
One more hit blows up the inning entirely, but we don't do those kinds of hits.

This week it was twice as they wind up 2-5 at the end of the Atlanta/Philly gauntlet.
And both of the wins were about as taut and fraught as they come.
