Re: This could just as well go in the Baseball Forum

Twitter, professionally, is a godsend for me. It's enormously valuable.

Personally? It's hit or miss on its best days. I definitely don't spend as much time there as I used to, and I've unfollowed and/or blocked a lot of people.

Re: This could just as well go in the Baseball Forum

If you can't see the difference between "making some noise to disrupt a rich white asshole at a fancy restaurant" vs "a synagogue having to cancel services because of death threats," then holy shit. There's a CHASM of difference.

It's pretty wild to realize that both teams "won" that deal.

Re: Memories of Travis Jankowski

The injuries have been such a problem for him. He's never been able to get consistent ABs, anywhere he's played the last few years. Part of me wishes the Padres had given him more of a shot, but at the same time, he kept getting hurt. Also, as to specific memories here, the whole "nobody's buyi...

Yet another Seawolf Met, so I was quite pleased, even if the dream didn't quite get completely fulfilled.

Former Met Franklyn Kilome getting the start here in Rochester today for the Wings... and promptly gives up long home runs to two of the first three Scranton batters.

Dude's still got it.

The fact that we're even having the debate at all means The Wall doesn't make the cut, I'd think.

Re: SPIN's 5 Albums I Can't Live Without

As to the secondary question: I know this place is weirdly anti-Smith, but there isn't a bad song on the first four Aerosmith records: Aerosmith -> Get Your Wings -> Toys in the Attic -> Rocks. Also, Metallica: Lightning -> Puppets -> Justice -> Black Album. BOOM. Surprise entry: Licensed to Ill -> ...

Re: SPIN's 5 Albums I Can't Live Without

I love goofy lists like this. My five, even though nobody cares because most of them aren't terribly mainstream, are Thunder's "Laughing on Judgement Day," Dream Theater's "Images & Words," Tesla's "Psychotic Supper," Counting Crows' "August and Everything Afte...

We got a pellet grill/smoker from Z grills this year. Straight grilling takes a little longer than on a traditional grill, but I have zero complaints. Everything we've made has been perfect.

Re: Loan Dep…I’m Still Calling It Marlins Park, Miami Florida

We were there at the end of April 2015. Koehler was reasonably well established as probably their #3 starter at that point, and Jose Fernandez was hurt early that season so he was even technically more than that. It's not like he was an All-Star by any means, but I still thought there was at least a...

Re: Loan Dep…I’m Still Calling It Marlins Park, Miami Florida

I went to two games there a few years ago, and was oddly fascinated by it. The first game it was rainy, so the outfield walls were closed and it felt cavernous and echoey, like a convention center. (The same way we felt about le Stade Olympique in 2004.) Two nights later, it was a gorgeous night, th...

Because they're only "news" in name. They don't have to cover anything they don't want to. They're no more a news channel than Comedy Central or Lifetime is.

Re: Adopted: Seawolves in the Pros

Figured it was long overdue to see what's happening with these guys. Travis Jankowski (Mets): DL'ed after becoming a viral sensation despite a .501 OPS. Sold some jerseys. Aaron Pinto (AAA, Cleveland): Looks like the next MLB Seawolf - 2-1, 3.15 in 20 innings, all out of the pen. Nick Tropeano (AAA,...

Re: Mass Shootings

Every country in the world deals with the same shit we do -- depression and mental health issues, video games -- and yet NONE of them have shootings like this. NONE. OF. THEM.

IT'S. THE. GUNS.

Melt down every goddamn one of them, as far as I'm concerned.
