I keep screwing myself over by flying too close to the sun. The rarity score is a bitch.

If I can get the two team combos then I'm generally in good shape. But I just don't know too many guys who played for Tampa, the White Sox, Seattle, really most of the AL teams. If they weren't also Mets or famous players I'm at a loss.

Tampa really kills me. Evan Longoria, Travis d'Arnaud. Dwight Gooden. Lucas Duda. That's about all I got.

27 for me.
That 11% on Maddux [GG/HoF] accounted for more than 40% of that, particularly
frustrating as ir was my final guess. I thought I was being clever by putting a pitcher
there. Not as clever as I thought as it turns out.

Lowered mine a bit by first thinking of Frank Robinson for BAL/CIN but then remembering the guy he was traded for, Milt Pappas

Steve Blass topped out at 19 Wins for the Pirates
There are 31 correct answers for that square [PITT/20 Wins] but just six of them since the end of the Truman administration.

I've screwed up trying to be too cute recently, so today I went mostly with the most obvious of guesses.

But my last one was Jim Wohlford. He's somehow my Nat-Expo/Brewer.

I was surprised to see that Nyjer Morgan was the most common answer to WAS/MIL
I wouldn't have come up with that name if given six weeks of contemplation and, even
if I did recall him, which teams he played with would have been pure guesswork.

Oh I remembered him once I heard his name.
But if tasked with thinking up Brewers/Nationals, or even just a Brewer OR a National, my mind would have
landed on Nyjer Morgan about six years from next Tuesday ... maybe.

I solved it with nine Mets today. I think this is a first for me.

Alomar, Carter, Piazza.
Lindor, Pedro, Beltran.
Alonso, Murray, Mays

Hank Greenberg hit 40 or more HRs three times (topped by a season of 58). But what I didn't know was that he lost almost Four Full Seasons to WWII and therefore finished with only 1,628 hits.

It's screwups like this which keep me from finishing 90% of these.
