XIGT: 3/3, HOU@NYM

Post by Edgy MD » Sun Mar 03, 2024 1:10 pm

As long as youse don't start these threads, I'm going to. But there's gold and glory just waiting for you, and you're missing out.

Today's pitched battle of 1962 expansion rivals features the second appearance by new Mets starting pitcher Adrian Houser, along with debuts from centerfielder leftfielder(!!) Brandon Nimmo and catcher Omar Narváez.

Also getting our first appearance by Keith Hernandez in the booth, with sideline reporter Steve Gelbs taking the play-by-play.

A couple of hard-hit shots by the Astros and the Mets are in a 1-0 hole.

Nimmo looked a little unfamiliar on his first try in left.

A couple of ground balls along with playing the infield in, and the Mets limit the damage to one run.

Mets coming up.

Marte just clobbered the ball so hard that he put a dimple in the left field wall.

He hit it so hard he was held to a single.

Yes he did. None as loud as Marte's shot, though.

If Keith has Rusty's book, it would make a nice loan-out to the Mets museum.

Josh Corniely might like his first pitch back.

Mets helmets are looking deeper blue. More of a match to the Astros' tops than their own.

Brandon Nimmo on the mic gets the offense going.

The powers that be pull the plug on the game, and 5-2, Astros, is your final.
