I can't even remember Scott Williamson at all, beyond that his name sounds familiar enough to have been one of those relievers the Mets never had. Surely I'd have trouble remembering Mike DeJean or David Weathers or Hunter Strickland were they not ever Mets. So I looked it up ... and let's play another Benevolent Hijack Kwiz

In 1999, the year Scott Williamson won the NL Rookie of the Year, three of the five guys to finish behind Williamson in NL ROY Voting all spent part of their careers in the Mets org. Name them

Bonus: There were 9 ROY vote-getters in the AL that year, and 2 of them played for the Mets, including the winner. Name them.

Can I open with a guess at the bonus?

Fuck it. I'll stay in the NL and guess Joe McEwing.

McEwing is correct (finished 5th with 3 pts) and sure guess anything. The question is all the vote-getters in 1999 AL and NL ROY races that were Mets at one point. There are five them, including an AL winner. McEwing is one.

Had I fielded this question I'd try to prove how smart I was and guess Angel Berroa but yes, Beltran is the one

correctamundo. Wilson finished 2nd to Scott Williamson, whoever the hell he is.

Looking for 2 more. One we will remember was a Met (more than a season or 2 in blue/orange and the 4th finisher in NL voting that year), and one we may not (short visit in 1 Met season and the 9th finisher in AL ROY.

I could tell you with absolute certainty that Berroa was the 2003 AL ROY.

But if you gave me 5 guesses as to what year he played for the Mets…and the window couldn’t be that large…I think it’s at best 50% chance I get it right.

2009. I can tell you off the top of my head because of the 2009 TCG card.

Trot Nixon it is.

One guy left. 4th in NL ROY in 1999. 2 seasons (really 1.5) in Queens, but you'd remember him

I'm hot and I'm feeling lucky. I was about to go for Ollie Perez, but instead I'm feeling ... Kristen James Benson!

OHHHH!!!!

I had no idea that 1999 rookies was my special niche of knowledge. The chicks'll go crazy for me now.

It's weird. The only name I was initially coming up with was Terrence Long, and that was my only wrong guess.

They are somehow a lot better than they were last time. Some rookie pitcher you never heard of and a rookie infielder you also never heard of are the cats vaginas.
