Mayorkas impooched by a single vote.

This should pointlessly tie up the Senate for a few months.

And former Rep. Tom Suozzi wins the seat held by former Rep. George Santos. Had he been sworn in 24 hours ago, the impeachment would have failed.

I'm surprised he nor any of his many lemmings in power haven't
called the election a fraud and/or demanded a recount or at least
come out and say it can't be legit because they should have won.

A Republican congressman announced that there will a meeting tomorrow to discuss a "national Security threat".
Why announce it?
Isn't it better to NOT let the other guys know you're onto them?
What a schmuck.

Maybe because it's only a national security threat in his teeny-tiny little mosquito brain.

Nearly one in five Americans say they believe a false conspiracy theory that Taylor Swift is part of a plot to boost President Joe Biden as he seeks another term in office, according to a new poll.

The survey, released Wednesday by Monmouth University, found that 18% of Americans “think that a covert government effort for Taylor Swift to help Joe Biden win the presidential election actually exists,” according to the university.

Scary thing is, a large portion of that 18% votes on a regular basis. And operates a motor vehicle. And has children.

Yeah, but all she has to do is endorse him. There's no need to "fix" the Super Bowl in order for that to happen.

They're just so stupid. Democrats eating babies. A child-trafficking ring operating out of the basement of a pizzeria that doesn't have a basement. Some people even think that Joe Biden is dead, and when we see him, it's Christopher Walken in a mask, carrying out the policies of Donald Trump.

I just wish we would focus more about the creamy middle than the bitter wings.

For one, it's the creamy middle that are going to swing the race. For two, one in four Americans apparently think the sun revolves around the earth. Some reports suggest a similar percentage can't find Chicago on a map of the US. I don't want that to be true, but expending a lot of energy on the most intransigent seems an awful misuse of energy and resources.

One needs to fight a bad ideology by chipping away at the softer adherents. Banging away at the hard core just gives the narcissist wingnuts the attention they crave, feeds their persecution complex, and makes their ideology appealing to other alienated people who aren't getting attention and feel a need to belong to something.

I think it's really going to be about turnout. Taylor Swift isn't going to change anyone's mind, but she probably has the power to motivate a lot of young people who might not have voted otherwise.

Which leaves us with only two, rather than three, really old guys that 90% of the country wouldn't consider their first, second, or tenth choice.

An Alabama court has ruled that in-vitro eggs being stored for future use are "people".
Does that mean that if a woman has frozen 30 of them she can claim them as dependents for tax purposes?
The IRS is gonna' love that one.

Re: taxes....

For IVF, the embryo must be transplanted into the mother. The child must reach six weeks gestation.
Egg freezing and embryo freezing do not qualify.

....good try, though.

So, how can declare it a person prior to those six weeks?
And can a woman who is six weeks pregnant ( in vitro or not) claim it as a person for tax purposes? What about the old joke of woman running up and down stairs on Dec 31 to get the dependent for the prior year's tax? That wouldn't be necessary. No?
You have conflicting government rulings.(one state one federal (IRS?)

Does Alabama have a state income tax? There could be a legit benefit there no matter what the feds say!

I think you would have to get a Social Security Number for your fetus. Or embryo, as the case may be.

I'm thinking I may try to get ahead of the curve here and get an SSN for each of my sperm cells.

Fucking retard state. They don't even need to control Congress anymore. Just run this baby up the legal pipeline to the top,, where Coney Barrett and her band of religious nutnobs will make it the law of the land.

Too bad the child credit is only a deduction and no longer refundable. You'd be a millionaire!

Well, that's two very bad comparisons.
