The More or Less of Whatnot Thread 2024

In the Rose Bowl Game, Michigan defended the final Alabama play like they knew the Alabama playbook.

My A1C is 6.2.
I didn't do a dance, but I got a firm handshake from my Doctor.

Yeah I know, but there is so much of this going on that I can’t begrudge them this championship.

I was going to watch a show I had on DVR.
But then I remembered "Krapp's Last Tape" and decided to do something else.

A patient yesterday, 15 year old girl burst out crying while Mom was filling out paperwork, I asked what was going on, Mom said she's upset because she has no phone service, lab is in a basement, I felt bad for her , she had some mental health issues.

The company I work for has a $2 bill with the Trump mugshot on it in the catalog.
People are buying it whether they love him or hate him.
I asked one guy if he was a collector and he said, "No. I'm just crazy".
I chalked him up as a Trump lover.

That is a pretty sweet gig.

I saw the wiener mobile twice in one day in State College a few years ago. I guess it was doing a guest appearance but that’s probably what it’s always doing.

Sat down to watch Chopped with my hubby and couldn’t figure out what was in the pocket of my flannel shirt. I fished it out and it was an old COVID test, lolol

Break Dancing is an Olympic event.

Should it be?
It has to be tough to score, like the slam dunk competition - style points.

If you're walking along and trip on your own two feet and
fall to the floor, a friend will ask if you're ok. A good friend
will offer to help you up. A best friend will laugh at you and
ask, "Walk much, dumbass?"

Ever wonder what "Foo Fighters" are?
They're a fast moving blob.
In the 1940s, Allied pilots during the Second World War reported being hounded by fast-moving blobs, which they dubbed “foo fighters”. They were shaped like clouds, donuts, balls and spheres, and often glowing or translucent.

I'm personally shocked, SHOCKED!, to see that there was a ten year long multi-million dollar extortion, bribery, pay-to-play corruption
scheme involving 70 current and former employees at the NYC Housing Authority.
Next thing you'll be telling me is that the LIRR has a long term history of rampant and unchecked abuse of overtime at public expense.

Of course I was also the guy shocked to learn that there was gambling going on in the back room at Rick's Cafe American, so maybe it's just me.

Interesting! I always assumed it was just some reference to some
silly school cafeteria jargon and/or activity.

I scored 185 in Words with Friends with CURVIEST, hitting a double and triple word score as well as placing the V on a triple letter score.

I had a good recipe a bunch of years ago (since lost) where you'd cook one stuffed with an Italian sausage (or some such similar item).

I knew about Charlie Pride playing baseball, but I didn’t know that on his way to a try out with the Mets in 1964, he made a detour to Nashville where he auditioned and signed a recording contract.

*Factoid learned from Casey Kasem this morning from an AT40 from 52 years ago.
