Geez not a great class.

Frampton is one of those artists who wrote most of his best loved songs in a period of like three weeks. He does get credit for a dignified post-fame career and as a musical craftsman. Gets in and I vote for him.

Oasis gets credit for the Britpop revolution, love some of their songs even if the recordings are outrageously loud. Outpunched their weight in cultural significance. Got a shot in a weak field but probbaly not this year.

Also voted for a Tribe Called Quest (successful crossover, will make hall look good), Kool & the Gang (not seriously) and Sinead O'Connor.

Foreigner lol

A very large amount of cultural significance blasting through a small window of time defines a lot of the candidacies — Frampton, O'Connor, Oasis, ATCQ.

Sinead, Oasis, Kool & the Gang and...Cher. Can't really vote for 5 but of course Mariah Carey will get in.

Oasis is on the ballot. Jethro Tull isn't. What kind of a world are we living in?

As far as the R&RHoF goes, I never had a ton of interest as to who's in and who's not.
That interest has dwindled down to zero in recent years.

I think Journey going in opens the door for Foreigner, or at least the Lou Gramm version of Foreigner. I know they are still out there, more of a cover band at this point.

I don't have a problem with Frampton, especially considering the Humble Pie connections.

I don't know about Ozzy has a solo act. The first two albums are great, but post Randy Rhodes he seemed to fall off - a lot.

I'm honestly not familiar enough with Sinéad O'Connor's work beyond the Prince cover, the Bob Dylan cover and the controversy.

I like Dave Matthews a lot, but he still seems kind of mid-career to me.

Foreigner, man. You know like 20 of their songs backwards and forwards. They are incredibly dumb. There is still no denying the guitar sound in "Hot Blooded" or the lyric "It was my destiny, it's what I needed to do/ They were telling me, I'm telling you."

Cher, Foreigner, and I hope Kool and the Gang gets to "celebrate".

Weak indeed , Oasis probably think they are more important than they actually were, definitely bigger in the UK and other markets than here I think.... Sinead does not have the body of work really... Cher apparently made comments after being snubbed before that she wouldn't go in then if they paid me a million dollars..

Good call. "4," is fantastic, with "Urgent" and that Junior Walker sax solo. And, a band where their biggest hit was probably their undoing. "I Want to Know What Love Is" was, I think, their only No. 1 - and turned off a bunch of their core audience. I was cool in concert, though, when they'd bring some local choir on stage to sing it with them.

Yeah, I dunno.

Zakk Wylde can come play in my metal band any time he wants.

Yeah, I agree. As absurd a figure as Ozzy is, there's a lot of good Ozzy.

Jake Lee is no slouch either.

Still no Weird Al either. Or Midnight Oil, but it's been a while since I felt that this had anything to do with great rock and roll.

Cher gets a nod for hanging around a f***ing long time. Ozzy, because anybody who can bite off a bat's head and live 40 more years AND have people still care must be doing something right. Sinead had a voice that could make you feel what she lived through, and while the body of work might not really stand out, I feel like she needs to be acknowledged.

I would absolutely vote for Oasis if it guaranteed both brothers HAD to appear on stage to accept.
