Re: You Always Remember Your First Time

Wright's secret stash of homers is right there with Wagner's secret stash of saves that will suddenly get him in after 10 years on the ballot. Baseball writers seem to let candidacies develop over time, which is why a player has 10 years on the ballot and not just one. But you know that. We understa...

The "No. No........Yes" one is great but weakened by "Joy of Jazz" sticking in there as the insert!

I'm struggling to figure out how to post the image. But one of the first things in the feed was a guy posting "Just posted this from the shitter" with a line of blue hearts and a photo of a building with "Fuck Musk" projected on the side. Then a bunch of soccer posts, then the sa...

Re: Who was the worst Mets GM?

I voted "Other." Joe McDonald was general manager from October 1974 until 1978, possibly the worst era in Mets history. The expansionn era doesn't count. I know he was a longtime team employee serving in every role possible. And he was working with an ownership group that was, at best, ant...

Former Solicitor General Theodore Olson, who argued 65 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Olson also argued the Bush campaign’s case before the Supreme Court in Bush v. That's insignificant. And, I would have killed to have that same experience! Joe gets to say he was a real New York Met!

Instead of spending 5/$180 on Cole, that money might better be used on a Corbin Burnes. If Cole does hit the open market, I wouldn’t be opposed to the Mets signing him for a 2 or 3 year deal. Buster Olney on the Baseball Tonight podcast saying that not only did Cole perhaps overplay his hand, but t...

Probably for the same reason that George Lucas keeps tinkering with Star Wars, an endless quest for perfection.

Or not.
Some of those changes were pretty good. Others, not so much. Han shot first!

I don’t know. I think the people clutching pearls over a bad joke made by a roast comedian might be a little more snowflakey than people upset over comments made by a sitting president who was clearly not joking.

I like Amazon. I just needed a special filter for my fridge, and the guy at Lowe’s said he didn’t stock it. We looked for the part on Amazon and had it yet next day - and fridge fixed. This was a good thing.

Who do you want back, and who should go?

The Juan Soto thread focuses on one player - and one we need to get! But I was thinking about the rest. Sterns did a great job with the one-year contract guys this season, and some increased their value and will expect to be paid well. There are bunch of prospects who might be ready to step up. Who ...
