Thank you, Willie Randolph.
(Or was it Art Howe?)
Later
I was thinking Howe, but it sounds like something Willie would have said too

Re: Adopted : Zebulon Vermillion

Assigned to St. Lucie a few weeks ago, but his roster status is shown as "injured - full season", so that's unfortunate.

I was looking forward to frequent reports of dominant Zebulon! performances but I guess that will have to wait.

Re: Vroom

The Baku circuit has grown on me over the years and usually delivers some excitement... but yesterday was a bit of a snoozefest. Seems like we've gone backwards in terms of cars being able to follow closely and actually race each other without relying on DRS.

Re: Syracuse Baseball 2023

When I was a kid I used to go to games there, in old MacArthur Stadium, back when they were a Blue Jays affiliate. It's a new building but the nostalgia was still hitting pretty hard.

Re: Syracuse Baseball 2023

Well, we didn't stay for both games, but spending one game with my dad and son was pretty cool too. Beautiful day for a game. They don't have coneys around here in CT, but every once in a while I'll have a box of 'em shipped here. I hadn't been on the lookout for one, but when I saw it on the menu, ...

I've gone to a couple Bridgeport Islanders games this year, since my daughter has sung the national anthem with her school and extracurricular choir groups. Fun times!

Re: Who should sponsor the Mets?

I can't stop thinking it looks like blood soaking through a hastily-applied bandage. I'll never stop seeing that now. Thanks! "Coming up next on SNY Sportsnite, we're approaching the All-Star break and your New York Mets are currently mired in a hopeless 8 game losing streak. Can this team lea...

Is there anyway to change the team week to week? Definitely! Click on "manage team" and make as many changes you want for every race. The first 2 changes per race are free. After that, it starts costing you 4 points for every change you make. Kind of a small price to pay, honestly. It als...

Re: Vroom

Alonso third in Saudi Arabia, with Hamilton fifth, LeClerc seventh, Gasly ninth, and Tsunoda eleventh, oddly giving my squad every other slot in there. How am I still in second? It looks like you had a well-balanced scoring attack last week, but you didn't have Verstappen, who scored a ton of point...

Saudi Arabia this week. One of the more insane tracks on the calendar... basically a street circuit at ludicrous speeds. I always feel like someone is gonna get killed at this track someday. I guess this year they've taken some steps to make it a bit safer, moving some walls and eliminating a few bl...

Re: Edwin Diaz Leg Thread of Much Concern

So I was in the city last night, at an event that I thought would wrap up around 9, allowing me to get back to my comfortable bed in CT some time before midnight. But nooooo, the event ran long and the soonest train I was able to get was the 12:07, which would get me home just before 2 am. So was al...

Re: Vroom

Yeah, DNFs really suck. Especially when you have - ahem - 3 of them in one day.

Also - I'm not sure what McLaren did to fuck up that car so badly. A few years ago they were in the mix for podiums and now... uh no.

Re: Vroom

I expect Alonso to be pretty reliable this year. He was in a car last year that broke down all the time, and he had horrible luck on top of that. This year can't be worse. Gonna be busy most of the day but I hope to watch this race later this afternoon. I love DVR tech, but I miss discussing sportin...
