Re: Your biggest Met blind spot?
I stopped following the Mets in the 90s. The local newspaper only had AP stories, and the TV stations favored the MFYs. I got back into it in 1999 with the Internet, but from about 1990-1998, I didn't pay much attention.

Re: No Need for Memories of Drew Smith
He seemed very upset last year that he couldn't play for the team this year. Once he needed the TJ surgery, he seemed regretful, since it meant his Mets career was likely over.

If a math genius could get the answer by looking at it, having them cover the steps to it taught them why they got the answer...

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies will be changing their name (for two games) to the Bathtub Donkeys in response to an obscure NYS law.

I will say the sour grapes by MFY fans are a wonder to behold.
Funny they didn't object to him last week.

Keep him. Anyone who pisses off Derek Jeter can't be bad.

Because the "odds" are not mathematical odds. They are the results of a simulation. Garbage in, garbage out.

Re: IGT - 06/03 Mets at Nats - Time to Get Going
Was Jack"Hairbredth Harry" pitching? Hamilton was the team's closer in 1966. He'd come in with a lead and allow just enough runs (usually by walks) to keep the lead, usually by ending things with a strikeout. Hamilton was traded to the Angels the next year, where he threw the pitch that en...

A Wisconsin bar offered free drinks if the Jets lost. When Rodgers went down, there were cheers and the patrons figured they'd have free drinks all evening.

Jerry Samuels. The name might not ring a bell, but he wrote and recorded one of the weirdest top 40 hits of the 60. It was one of the few 45s I actually bought.

He took classes at my Alma Mater when he was stationed here in Schenectady. The college didn't keep records of it because he was nonmatriculed, but there's no reason to doubt his claim.
What I find most amazing is his fight against the Guinea worm, going from 3.5 million cases a year to 13 last year.
