Re: Former Mets, Current Situations 2025

Thought this was interesting and unusual. The Cincinnati Reds have exMets at every level this season: Reds - Collin Cowgill - First base coach Louisville AAA - Reid Cornelius - Pitching Coach Chattanooga AA - Mike Jacobs - Hitting Coach, Dick Schofield - Coach Dayton High A - Willie Blair - Pitching...

Re: Bob Gallagher 1947-2024

The two things I saw online were a collector receiving his letter back from Gallagher where the USPS returned it marked deceased back in October. The second was a person in December that received a note back from the Mrs stating that Bob had passed. No obituary or memorial could be found online. Las...

Bob Gallagher 1947-2024

Newsweek sports writer Jon Paul Hoornstra published an article acknowledging Bob’s passing last August. You can find the article. I couldn’t find a link. In the sports autograph world his mail was being returned to collectors marked ‘deceased’ since October which I believe prompted the writer to loc...

Re: RIP Ron Lcke, 1939-2024

See if this link works: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/ronald-locke-obituary?id=57095205 I met Ron some time ago. Great guy. Still fit playing ball. Injuries ended his career but to me he was the first lefty 45 the Mets had before Tug and Franco. Too bad he didn’t get to show in it New Yo...

Ed Kranepool 1944-2024

Saw some early postings that Steady Eddie passed away early this morning. First a Mets Fantasy Camper on Facebook that has since been deleted. And now Art Shamsky’s girlfriend (teresataylorpro) on Instagram.

Re: Billy Murphy, 1966 Met, 1944-2024

If the team really cared, they’d correspond with the alumni. Especially the older ones. Just have them stay in touch, keep the team informed of any changes, etc. Unfortunately they do very little and I’ve spoken to players that notice. Some have traveled to NY and Citifield and got the ‘who are you?...

Re: Billy Murphy, 1966 Met, 1944-2024

Sorry just found out about this today. Many of these gents go unnoticed in their passing. I think Danny Napoleon was close to a year and a half. Here’s a pic of Murph from a friend that visited him in 2014. He loved the Mets and greeted my friend wearing that hat. [img][img]
