Re: Bending the Knee and Politics in 2025
This was horrific, the spectacle of JD Vance berating Zelensky and then the two of them treating this like it was some kind of deal for a beachfront hotel that had run out of financing and that their job was to secure the maximum % ownership for the minimum outlay. Or like two loan sharks trying to ...

Re: Robo-Ump challenge system
this is a decent implementation. good points 1. Onus on player - YOU FEEL IT WAS SO BAD - then appeal it! Not brave enough to appeal it then STFU! 2. No delay - this isn't about catching the ones microns away from the strike zone like some of the base running plays feel to be 3. Cuts all ways - each...

Re: Daily Walkoff
one of the things that's amazed me is how Rey Ordonez has done in some counting stats just by sheer "playing every day" would you ever imagine he'd be in "1999 Top 5 RBI" - well yes he was - now he was 5th on 60 with Piazza, Ventura, Fonzie and Olerud above him but because the ot...

Re: The Pete Alonso Conundrum
He didn't refer to the negotiations as asymmetrical but the contract offer that Alonso's people came back with. If you say their (mets) offer is 69 million over 3 years with no opt outs. (AAV of 23 million) and Alsono's people came back with 35+28+28 (the rumoured value was 91 million from memory) w...

Re: Are we really talking about Alex Bregman?
Call me non-plussed about Bregman. I think if we're not re-signing Pete i'd prefer to go with something like a four-headed Santana/Mauricio/Baty/Vientos 1b/3b/DH monster.

this is very well done.
Though I suspect it's also the kind of thing that will hasten the ABS plans.

what a strange career Lucchesi has had. Not much was ever expected but he always managed to contribute a little in moments, but never enough to establish himeself in a role. Hope he's put his $ away as I fear there's no more then minor league deals with invitiation to spring training for him from no...

This was the game we were at.
Result didn’t play ball but it was an entertaining go round. Didn’t know what the catcher interference was at the time it was happening - umpires were clear as mud.. Park was great - such a remove from the old Shea : we did have lovely seats just behind the mets dugout.

As someone who’s been in the city and then had to get cab out to JFK I can not believe there is any hope of this happening.

Re: Going to A game - Opening few days!
quick thing.
Going to purchase tickets for the Sunday game shortly and the tickets on SeatGeek seem a decent bit cheaper then those on the mets.com - even with their horrendous fees and charges.
Any experiences with any of the re-sellers?

Has there ever been a long term deal for a pre arb player that didn't turn ok for the club? These seem pretty low risk edit: Immediately after posting this I remembered Wandor Franco. So I'll revise the question: Has there been a long term pre-arb deal that didn't work out ok for the club just look...

I liked this one - a pleasant smattering of mets including one of my favourite rare ones in Desi Relaford - but wish I'd saved him for the Rockies as I'm sure he'd have done a damn sight better for me then Vinny Castilla!

Jose Reyes got exactly the number of votes he deserved. Glad that Wright gets to stick around another year. I don't think he is a hall of famer but I like talking about him! Beltran was a better player than Andruw Jones, but the trash cans are always going to be a factor. You know else were better ...

Between 1st and 3rd, then whatever's in your price range. Even the Promenade is "close" to the field there. Keep in mind Citi can be incredibly chilly around Easter. Damp and windy. So the ability to get into a club can be important. The Promenade club is difficult to watch a game from. W...

Going to A game - Opening few days!
Hello Right- so I'm bringing the kids and the mrs to New York for Easter - and one of the deals is that we get to go to a game, Obviously it's opening weekend so it'll be busy or we could go to the the Monday night game. However, I think the Saturday/Sunday afternoon games vs the Brewers would be be...
