Today I learned that Kevin Appier had 1,994 career strikeouts. Not 2,000 or more, as I may or may not have guessed when playing Immaculate Grid this morning.

What I learned today was that there were a bunch of pitchers who pitched briefly for SDP that I have no memory of them
pitching for SDP: David Wells, Randy Johnson, Bartolo Colon, Greg Maddox, etc. Some of those names would have been
useful in filling out the grid. Also, that Yu Darvish has 1,929 career strike outs.
