What's in Store for Twenty-Four?: Starling Marte

Post by Edgy MD » Sun Mar 31, 2024 11:30 pm

The Mets were as good as anybody, and then I got hurt. Nineteen months later, neither I nor the Mets haven't really been that good.

I don't want to suggest that the world revolves around me. Coincidence isn't necessarily correlation, and correlation isn't necessarily causality. But it's hard for me to imagine a world where I'm as good as I used to be, but the Mets in general stink. A star Starling in Queens means a winning team in the same place. Or so goes the logic.

But again, it's spotty logic, and it's very broad picture. Perhaps you see the specifics more clearly, and can tell me how my 2024 is going to play out, and if the Mets' fortunes really are so closely linked.

Average out 2022 and 2023 and that's what you'll get for 2024:

102 G, 10 HR, 46 RBI, 21 SB*, .274/.328/.410

*he stole 24 bags last year?!?!?!
