I bet if you hit the hotel bar, Severino will be there watching the game.
08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
Re: 08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
Happy hour starts in 25 minutes. I'll let you know. We do stay in a pretty nice joint when we're in town but I think we're closer to the airport than the ballpark.

Mets can breeze away into a plane after this most likely
McNeil is picking up the slack for those are slumping
Taylor is a good Met

We'd get you a hotel hooker, but we spent the last of our dough
on getting one for SJRogers in Miami so you're on your own.

Apparently, Manaea had to let one more guy get in scoring position before he finished the seventh.
Re: 08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
Should be Stanek and Diaz to close things out.
Re: 08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
I guess it didn't occur to me that Goldschmidt could look worse than he did the last time we faced the Cards.
Re: 08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
Diaz gets one.
Re: 08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
Since Diaz's ERA reached its high of 5.40 on May 18, his ERA has been 1.38.

The tiebreaker is MINE!!
Re: 08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
Good win. More like these please.
Re: 08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
Outside of a rough three-game stretch from May 13 to May 18, Diaz has actually been pretty solid.
Before that stretch: 15 G, 2.30 ERA
During that stretch: 3 G, 27.00 ERA
After that stretch: 14 G, 1.38 ERA

Re: 08/05 Mets at Cards - Away We Go
Excluding today, Manaea has a 2.28 ERA in 9 starts since June 14.
Also, great game.
Back to me thinking they might actually be a playoff-quality club.
The offense has always, on paper, been postseason quality. But the pitching, oh that pitching...

I blame Susan Collins

They might be one of the best teams in baseball. Maybe April was an outlier and not representative of who the Mets are. Lindor went through perhaps the worst stretch of his career. They didn't have Martinez yet, who's not just a body. He's a big contributor and bats in the middle of the lineup. And in April, they were playing the execrable Baty, who's since been swapped out for Vientos, who developed into the Mets best hitter and is playing like an MVP vote-getter.
