Any baseball autograph collectors out there?
Any baseball autograph collectors out there?
I've been collecting seriously since 2003. I used to primarily focus on rookie cards/pre-major league cards, in the hopes I could get guys before they became stars. And I've received a few big names in my day doing it that way, including Zack Greinke, Max Scherzer and Joey Votto. Since current guys really don't sign anymore, I've started sending out all my 'old' cards (those being 30+ years old) to get those signed.
I've been slowly posting pics of my (baseball) collection here if you want to follow along:

Re: Any baseball autograph collectors out there?
Nice collection.
Have you ever calculated what percentage of the players who signed minor league cards never made it to the majors? Or are they all major league cards?

I've never calculated the percentage of guys who made the majors, but the majority more than likely did not. Many were major league cards, but I've sent out a bunch of the Bowman First Year cards and cards from minor league sets, as well.

If anyone is interested, the thread linked above has been added to significantly, though I still have a ways to go.
I don't have a picture of it, yet, but I recently received Sid Fernandez. He almost never signs; I wonder what I did right. I was very shocked.

Seawolf was (is) a big signed Mets card collector I believe.
But unfortunately he has left us for bigger and better things.

Not to bump my own thread again, but the collection of Mets autos in the first post—as well as the collection in the external link I posted—has grown exponentially since I last updated.

I had to look up Earl Snyder.
I must be getting old.
