Exactly. These things happen. Get it tomorrow and things are back on track.
I'll take this type of Game One loss over the WS 2000 G1 type with its multiple physical and mental fuck-ups culminating with a 12th inning walk-off single type of gut-punch.

Senga's mechanics were almost comically off. The only thing you can do with that is recognize it earlier and get the hook out, like, before the game.

But I understand the temptation to have faith in a vet that he'll figure it out.

You can't hang that one just on Senga of course, but he and Al Leiter and Tom Glavine can start a club together for Mets with misbegotten post-season starts.

Trachsel was the disastrous start in 2006. Glavine was…ok, not great in Game 5…but it was Trachsel who really shit the bed.

My cloudy memory of 2006 was that we managed to win some games in the postseason mainly because of Tom Glavine and pieces of duct tape shaped like Oliver Perez, John Maine, and Darren Oliver, and that even getting to the point where Wainwright could freeze Beltran with an unhittable curve was something of a miracle.

Glavine did, of course, shit the bed in a very memorable way in the last regular season game of 2007.

Bassett did some serious bedcrapping in 2022. Scherzer wasn't much better
