Discuss trading for Jordan Montgomery

Post by Marshmallowmilkshake » Mon Nov 18, 2024 12:40 pm

Monty picked up his player option despite the owner calling signing him the biggest mistake he ever made. Dbacks might be motivated to trade him, and it would just be for the 2025 season. Got a late start in 2024 and regressed. Might be exactly the kind of guy the Mets pitching lab can restore. Not sure what it would take. DBacks might just be happy getting rid of the salary.

6.23 ERA over 117 innings in 2024.

He's owed $25 million for 2025.

He'll turn 32 next month.

I don't see it happening, unless Arizona eats most of his salary.

What the owner said was one of the wildest things from last season , but it's worth listening to

Only if they throw Ketel Marte into the deal.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.

Starling Marte for Jordan Montgomery has been bandied about on the interwebs.

My feeling at this point is that Marte probably has more value as a DH (or a platoon DH) than Montgomery would have as a starter.
