I don't think Schildt will win because nobody knows how to pronounce his name.

More so than any other award, I have no idea how one decides the manager of the year. Like I can tell if my own manager is bad. I think I can even tell if an opposing manager is bad.

But a good manager. I don't know if anyone can truly say that one manager did a better job than another. How do you gauge that?

I'm voting for Mendoza, and I'm not claiming to be objective.

Manager of the Year seems to often go to a manager whose team exceeded expectations. So yeah, I think Mendy has a good shot. But who knows?

Third place seems fair.

The third place vote for Marmol and the first place vote for Thomson? Those, I agree are “yikes”

And on the AL side of the ledger, Cleveland's Stephen Vogt becomes the fastest to go from active player to manager of the year.
Joe Girardi had previously been the quickest from active player to MoY. Vogt's last game as a player was 10/5/22 (he HR'd in his last AB)

The Mets will just have to win everything next year from wire to wire for Carlos to get it.
