I rode my bike by the park the other day and was surprised to see housing going up in such a hurry on 126th street (aka Seaver Way). The entire street from Roosevelt to Northern Blvd. is closed off for all the construction going on, with buildings on the Northeast corner of Roosevelt & 126 already looking like housing. Further down the street --right opposite the bullpen entrance--the new NYCFC stadium is going up but that will be Phase 2.

I used to think it would be fun to live beneath the bleachers at Big Shea. How would you feel about living across the street from Citi?

I don't know. The convenience of being able to walk to the game, with no worry about parking or post-game traffic is great. But there would be more days and nights when I wasn't attending the game, and the noise and traffic would be annoying. It's hard to say if the pros would outweigh the cons.

The retail is in phase 2 so you'd be living without a convenient food store for a while. Plus your neighborhood would be a construction zone for a few years-- more if Cohen builds his project in the parking lot.

But I can see some upsides
-- Walkable express station -- 20-25 minutes to Grand Central is pretty sweet.
--Very lively downtown Flushing and its tons of restaurants and shopping just a short walk
--Lively Corona and its authentic ethnic shops a slightly longer walk
--Gigantic Corona Park and its Unisphere, Queens Museum, soccer fields and cricket pitches
--walk to US Open
--Walk to MLS
--Mets and NYCFC have designs on being global superbrands of the future
--housing is supposed to be "affordable"

Is there any plans to develop that harbor area? I feel like that's waterfront property that's not being used.
