Let's talk about... Max Scherzer????
I would be very surprised if this led to anything (although I said the same thing about a trade for Robinson Cano) but Max Scherzer reportedly had one of those workout auditions and the Mets were one of the teams that attended. (Others teams said to be there were the Yankees, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Phillies, Braves, Cubs and Red Sox.)

Nope. He essentially asked to be traded because he didn't like the Mets plans for the future. Let him be an expensive, back end of the rotation guy somewhere else.

Managed a 1.154 WHIP and a K/9 of nearly 9 last year, at 39 years old.
