Also how do you decide whether Soto debuted before Holmes? The Mets opened the game in the field meaning the debuted at the same moment, didn't they?

I would count Soto first because he would have been announced into the starting lineup* before Holmes was.

(I remember Bob Murphy used to say "lineups and batting orders" which may have implied that there was a time when there was a distinction between the two, with the "lineup" being how the players were aligned on the field, while the batting order was, well, the order in which the players batted.)

Mets batted first so it’s an easy call that Soto is first here.

If Mets were in the field first I’d still go Soto because of batting order as suggested above.

Oh yeah I didn't think of that. Soto batted before Holmes pitched. I had it on in the car as I was driving

If it were the opposite (Mets at home), I'd have counted Holmes ahead of Soto, since he would've participated first, lineups be damned.
